Yes I would mix it a bit for the Oldham game, put a good 13 out get a good lead then introduce some of the youngsters of the bench, something like Phelps,Lyne,Cunningham or Crooks,Yeaman,Briscoe,Obst,Long(if not suspended then Horne),Moa,Houghton,Radders,Westerman,Tickle,Washbrook Subs Aldous,Williams,Kent,Newton or something similar give the likes of Fitz,O'Meley,Horney,Whiting,Sharp,Lauaki a rest.

Aye you're right Dave, Briscoe, Houghton, Lyn, Wheeldon, Lee etc were never given a shot at the first team.

Other than Lyne, all the rest were brought through by other coaches mate

Niklas was promoted to the first team in the closed season and would have been playing if not injured for the season.

I'm not suggesting it's as good as it should be, just not as bad as it might be. TBH as I don't get to see the youth sides play it's difficult for me to judge whether we're holding youngsters back or just not producing the correct quality.

It does make you wonder what our development strategy is though. Especially so when our youth sides have, for most of the SL era, been at or around the top performing in their respective age groups.

Develop them and see if any are good enough to move to Leeds, if not they need to be released to allow Leeds to offload it's un-needed youth players to FC. The Heths clever strategy is very clear.

Agar was the no.2 so will have played a part.

We should be producing more though I accept that and they should develop into better players once they are in the first team which doesn't always happen.
