When he left Hull to go to Leeds was it Hulls decision or did he leave Hull for a better playing deal. I can't remember now, it was a long time ago. I can't even remember the year to be honest.

He was subjected to approaches by Leeds whilst on the GB tour down under in 1987 (despite being under contract to us). Surprise surprise when he came back he said he didn't want to play for Hull anymore because he preferred to play for Leeds.
After being "on strike" for a while we reluctantly sold him to Leeds.

This was worse than what Cooke did, and no surprise it has never been forgotten.

I hated him at the time but with hindsight it's difficult to blame him for what he did. It was the way he did it that was the problem
