| Can't imagine Rovers would want to leave the salubrious surroundings of Craven Park....
Anyway,it costs a bomb for the SMC to get in loads of disinfectant in for the North stand after their one visit a season....could you imagine if they moved in???????

I'm pretty happy how things are at FC thanks. Turning over a profit year after year & five figure crowds every home game. You wouldn't mind "muck" like that.

| Quote: Mrs Barista "IMO it's just feigned interest as a rent negotiation bargaining chip. They are very confident that there are thousands waiting for the East Stand extension to be completed. They wouldn't be pressing ahead with the ground developments if they were contemplating a move to the KC. The East Stand extension is moving at pace I hear, which is evidence in itself.
It's a bit like "Field of Dreams" - "if you build it, they will come"
Once the East Stand is completed, I expect crowds on a par with Brisbane Broncos.

| Quote: Mrs Barista "Currently Rovers are beneficiaries of a peppercorn rent arrangement courtesy of the council via KCD and pay some basic pitch maintenance/stewarding costs. I don't know whether they've paid anything towards the East Stand extension, or whether it's all from the NHS and the RFL, but they are taking on debt of £1.9m plus interest for the North Stand. On top of that it sounds like KCD are looking to increase the rent on land that used to house the Golf Stand and will now house the North Stand development. So they've got 2 lots of increased facilities costs over and above what they pay now. Perhaps they are weighing up the risk of not generating enough income to cover these extra costs against a more fixed rental arrangement at the KC which, if they could afford it, would be much less of a ball-ache to contend with than the risk of £2m+ additional debt. The only problem is whether Rovers fans would be happy with a "home" west of the river already occupied by their much-disliked rivals.
rovers aren't taking on any debt for the north stand are they? I thought the council were borrowing the money and rovers paying them back

Yes thats true - however as long as my club is being secured financially with genuine fans/shrewed business men at the helm and bringing world class players like Willie Mason over I'll not complain.
