There is no question they would not have a couple of million spare floating around but as a well run club posting profit year on year there is no way a bank or funding body would not offer to back a development scheme.
They were close to Uni until......well, lets just say they were close to getting a training facility at Hull Uni

| Quote t.m.t.b.f.="t.m.t.b.f."To be fair if the club were still at the Boulevard we would probably average around 6k a game, the club is in an enviable position of having the best facilities in the game stadiumwise so there is some logic behind what The Brother is saying, we should have everything else in place off the park regarding their own player facilities instead of commuting around all over East Yorkshire what seems to be cap in hand. The club had long enough to get the Boulevard upto scratch for what facilities they needed but signing off that elusive cheque to go towards any available grant funding never materialised. I couldnt help but be impressed when they focused on Wigan's facilities on SKY the other night. Hull FC do an excellent job in using the stadium facilities itself to their advantage but thats it, take the stadium away and would SL really want 2 clubs from Hull in the league? I even think that KR have beneffited from the stadium, not by playing there obviously but by the way the stadium itself has helped raise the profile of FC and the game itself in the city.'"
I wonder what happend to the Rugby Union club that used to play at Wigans training facility......Wigan got handed that after Whelan and Lindsey shafted Orrell RU and a mysterious fire broke out.

| Quote Dnats Ynnepeerht="Dnats Ynnepeerht"Training Facilities: I'm sure since Rule has been in place we've had a couple of deals to build one. Firstly we had an agreement with the Uni, whereby they provided the land and we built the facilities (I'm sure Wilf knew all the detailson this one. That one fell through at no fault of the club. Secondly was the Boulevard development in a deal with the NHS I believe(?), again fallen through, and not at the fault of the club as far as I'm aware. The club simply can't afford to buy the land AND build a brand new facility, we need a partner to invest. Also, it's not asif the club isn't trying to get it's own facility.
Squad quality: We definately do have the quality in our squad, we just don't have the depth. No halfback cover has been brought in, but you could say the club saw Nicklas as that backup, as well as Turner. Still one maybe two players needed, but only as squad players IMO.
Salary cap: For all you know we were nearing full cap before Berro left. Caders gone & replaced by Sharp; Cussack and Hall's salary out, Westerman in. So I'd say that's about right. Burnett, Berro & Tansey left afterwards, Phelps in, so we still have space on there should a player become available, and I suspect the club are still looking.
Inexperienced coach: There are definately more inexperienced coached out there, and based on league position, Agar is the best British coach out there
.
Youngsters: Yes, we've not brought through too many in recent years (except for Briscoe & Houghton) which you could put down to KR now being in SL. We have Lyne, Cunningham, J.Briscoe, Williams, who could all make the step up this year. We've signed youngsters from Scotland and Cumbria, so were doing our share of scouting.
Ambition: Paying out transfer fees for young British players is certainly ambition, and investing for the future. As is setting up the Sirius Academy, Jets programme. As fir Agar, the club believe they have their man, and it 's quite admirable how they've stuck by him and backup him with these transfers. I think this season will be his last chance though.
You need to chill out mate and think back to how things were 11 years ago. Yes, there are problems but it's not as though the club aren't trying to iron them out.'"
Great Post this, very valid and worthwhile points made. I personally think Hull have more important things to worry about than owning their own training ground ATM. Most RL clubs run at a loss, ours does not but that shows that the board are sensible with the revenue created at Hull Fc. Why go out and blow it on something that won't create revenue?
I like to train and keep fit, I pay a subscription to a gym to do this, I have no intention of building one in my back garden. The money in my bank is used for better things.

| Quote The Brother="The Brother"How long are we going to be taken for granted by the club,as much as they would have us believe everything is heading in the right direction its far from it. We have a squad that is so short of any real quality its untrue. We have lost calders, hall, yak, berro, burnett n now tansey must be 400k there alone and replaced with westerman, sharp, phelps so must be at least 200 k left there yet rule said prior to berro going we was at full cap, bull$hit imo. Our training facilites are a joke considering we have no stadium that we actually own its about time we had our training facilties instead of a day at ionains, day at boulevard, day fitness first, day university a club of our size should have there own training facilties by now instead of talking about it its time they delivered. We have the most inexperienced coaching duo's in agar, webster in super league and are our youngsters actually as good as we think compared to leeds, saints, wigan. Imo we are now behind wire, huddersfield, hkr who all have more ambition than we have and think it will be a long time before were challenging for honours again. Were been taken for granted and sold short when we deserve so much better for the way we back the club think this season may well be the one that breaks the camel back for a lot of fans'"
How many clubs actually own there own ground.....so we have a training pitch and bankrupt the club, which i think you would be glad to see in a pervase way.......only thing we need is a damn fine coach and thats us sorted.
OR WOULD YOU SOONER SEE US RETURN TO THE WALSH/LlOYD ERA.

So your only issues with the club are to do with the squad really? It's not as though the club aren't trying to sign players and are happy with what we have, and they're probaby just as frustrated as us lot.
Our 1-17 isn't that bad! But our sqad depth is. We've got a fair bit of cap space free I imagine, so it's a case of being patient I think. The club are definately still looking.

I accept that the club have looked and are still looking but why does a big club like ours consistently fail to put a squad together that can actually seriously challenge at the top of SL ? This season's squad is a mid-table squad again but when the injuries kick in, we'll once again blame "bad luck".
Something has got to be wrong hasn't it ? It can't all be "bad luck".
