| I agree there's no way that Hull FC can be kicked out of the KC. However I think some people are being a bit naïve that the stadium won’t be sold. From what I hear, on extremely good authority, is that one of the major reasons the Allams bought out Hull City was on the premise that they would be able to buy the stadium.
I don’t think they would have committed all the money they already have without thoroughly investigating the chances of this happening with the council and powers that be etc.
They will buy the stadium and then look at expanding as soon as possible. Hull FC will still have a home, but it will look sp when just over a quarter filled on most weekends.

Really?
People with money do that sort of thing all the time. Plus they may not have been told the truth - either deliberately or through ignorance.

Maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong? Either way I think it's very naive for somebody to say outright "there's no way the stadium will be sold".

Nobody in the Council could give assurances about buying any asset, be it the KC, a Museum, Gallery or major piece of art owned by HCC. The comittee stages involved in disposing of any asset (and especially a major one such as the KC) would be time consuming in the extreme, then people would have to be given a 28 day consultation period and be allowed to make representations to cabinet, it may even get "called in" by Whitehall as it is such a high profile issue (on a local level).
If it were THAT easy for Council's to dispose of assets then there would be authorities up and down the country disposing of all manner of assets in an attempt to plug the various funding gaps.
I don't think we should take "some bloke down my local" as a "reliable and knowledgeable source" (or whatever Eric referred to them as.
Anyone ever sold a house?, you know how long that takes, and there are no complex political or legal issues associated with it, selling an asset of the crown (which is, in effect, what the KC is) would be ten fold more complex (IMHO)

I'm not disputing any of the above and you certainly seem to know what you're talking about. However, time will tell and the stadium will be sold and developed, be it now, 2 or 5 years time.

Good job nobody's said that, then.
And I would have said that it's far more naive to believe scuttlebut from a 'reliable source' without actually checking whether the facts contradict that information. As Standee said, the Allams cannot possibly have been told that they can buy the stadium - at best they will have been told that it would not be rejected out of hand.

Is this based on your source again?

allam is worth approx £185 mill
He's into City for £30 mill
Would he really be ready to blow another £40mill on the KC buying and maybe even more expanding? Would he ever get that money back?
For it to be worth anyone while the football club should buy the ground, not the owner of the SMC and football club.
I have said many a time we should have done a uddersfield, where both clubs own a %age of the ground with the council the rest.

You keep living in your ideal little "Hull FC oriented world". There's no point in arguing, time will be the telling factor.
