| Quote PAUL M="PAUL M"So compare our list to Leeds then in the last 3/4 years what have they produced.....?
[uYou asked for a list and several people gave you one and then you proceed to attack the list of players provided.[/u Your are one of those fans right now that do nothing but criticise most aspects about the club.'"
To be fair to him, of the list of 8 players that was produced - 4 are no longer with the club, and only 2 are guarenteed a place in a fully fit starting 17. In the context of the overall debate, I think he has a point.

His point was also comparing us against other top sides though and as I have already said what have Leeds produced recently? What about Wire? Fair enough Wigan and Saints stand out a bit more but we are on a par with other leading clubs.

When you look at the 2006 Hull GF team with 9 homegrown players, your production line looked like one to really envy. 4 of those have moved on, as have Lee and Hall without so far really fulfilling their potential. Radford and Horne are showing signs of age and wear and tear, while Yeaman, Whiting and Washbrook seem to have stood still. Houghton and T.Briscoe show Hull can still produce top class players, but not currently at a rate to match those departing or fading. Whether they are the tail end of the last golden generation or herald the arrival of a new one, only time will tell...

| Quote garry brindley="garry brindley"In your efforts to protect the club from my criticism you attempted to turn a discussion into how effective the academy was into how many academy players had made first team appearances, disregarding the fact that the vast majority of those that have made first team appearances haven't been considered good enough in the long run.'"
I actaully quoted your statement which said that our academy didn't bring in first team regulars. I found facts which contradicted that and now you're having trouble to actually find anything against those facts. Can't you just leave the facts do the talking, or will you still keep trying to argue against them?

| Jessie Joe looks like an interesting type of player but if Wakey lost patience due to red tape I'm guessing if anyone else shows an interest in him over here he would have to re-apply all over again.

I still find it strange that the club seem to think 2010's was 'mass recruitment'. Even including Tansey and Lauaki's late 2009 arrivals, we only brought in 6 players from outside the club. If we are still hoping for another before the season starts that's 3, so 6 wasn't that many more.

I think it was in terms of player turn around, not just recruitment, and in key areas throughout the team.

You engaged in wordplay in order to try and detract from the overall point I was making. If you think that's 'letting the facts do the talking' then I'm glad you're not my MP
