It's a shame we don't have a similar coach now, so what how much he spends, thats comes down to the board to be authorised.

But that is the thing, IF a new coach put 2000 on the average gate, after tax etc. that is about £200k a year, and a decent coach would cost us that.

Until we stop paying our cash over at the turnstiles/season passes then nothing will change.

Smith can't have had that much money to spend. We had to have a big lottery just to sign Noel Cleal (I remember selling books of tickets!).
He was similar to McGuire when he first came. Had a good reputation, but relatively unknown. Turned players like David Moon & Brian Blacker and the like into relatively good players.
Until we show some foresight & ambition like we did in appointing Smith, we'll just have more of the same.
There again the drop in season tickets numbers, which will happen this year, will at least introduce a bit of pressure on the club to perform.
