After Both City and Hull FC moved to the KC as shared tenants I lost count of the number of times some City fans found some comfort in texting / calling RH with ill-informed comments on the lines of the KC was THEIR ground and that Hull FC should not be allowed to use it. That is a small minded comment. Fact of the matter is it takes both teams to use the stadium to make it work.
I've never claimed it was City's ground, I'm actually in favour of a ground share. My comment is aimed at those finding pleasure in what they mistakenly believe is City's demise. Neither Club can afford the stadium on it's own, but even now City would have a far more realisticv chance than FC.
Comments like these only go to show how threatened many of the new bread of City fans were of not only Hull FC but of RL in general. After all prior to 2008, the vast majority of national sporting coverage concerning the city of Hull was RL related.
Most people still haven't heard of RL. At any given point since the leagues were formed, more people in Hull follow a football team than follow a RL team.
I use the term "new bread" as many of the die hard City fans who have stuck with them through thick and thin are actually quite embarrassed by the comments and complete lack of knowledge about Hull City and the sport in general.
Some of the comments from FC fans on this thread alone show it's not isolated to football, but being more popular it perhaps attracts a larger number of this type?
I seem to recall you commented on threads of old that you claim to be a City fan for decades rather than just years. Assuming you are of a slightly more mature age than some, why do you feel the need to register on an RL forum, to then log on just on the off chance there is a Hull City related thread?
I didn't. I'm a fan of most sport in Hull. I just can't get bothered about much of the other idle gossip, but get confused when Hull folk choose not to defend Hull.
What’s more questionable is your signature. For someone who claims to have little interest in RL it would seem unusual that you choose to follow one team, let alone two.

How many games have you been to this season? And just who will "never be mastered"? Leeds appear to have mastered St Helens quite well over the last 3 seasons and Gateshead appear to get mastered on a weekly basis. Or are you referring to Hull City? Of course not, because that would be really small minded to post that on an RL forum, wouldn't it.

For the record, I have no axe to grind with Hull City or the many fans who follow them. Unfortunately there are generally a few who think they have a superiority complex which is not only unfounded but is also never backed up.

I'd bow to your expertise on the dry bumming, but are you saying Jimmy Bullard playing one more game for Hull City presents Fulham with an additional £3million or are you conceding that was nonsense? |
