I spoke to a moderator off this forum last week, and he said that Hull had spoken to Fielden but were not to sure about his mental state.What that means i'm not sure.
I think he's way past his best and gets man handled to easily these days when playing the likes of Saints, Leeds, Warrington ect who target it him.

Actually Wigan have offered him a very nice deal Standee so that means in fact the coaching staff of Wigan see him as a very good player, however they are also looking at heafty wage increases based upon their incoming signings hence they have allowed a number of on and off contract players to have a look outside if they so wish ...

The lad is a quality player and in contention again for a trip down under at the end of this season , the current Wigan sucess is partly built on SF and AC and their prescence so even in another year he would STIL be a great buy for anyone!!
He may not be the player he was at Bradford but he is also a lot older with a lot more rugby under his belt, he rarely makes mistakes and is still brave as a bull so in my opinion a darned good prop !!

12 months on reduced terms, if we're offering him 2 years on half decent money then it's a risk, but agreed, no more of a risk than keeping the people we've already got.
