| I also remember walking towards the stadium, turning and seeing a police escort and the team bus going past us.
Not to mention the hordes of fans from other clubs as 24 hour FC fans.
Not a hint of trouble, everyone drinking together and walking back to the car numbed at the end. Loads of Cas fans singing their version of Old Faithful too.
Brilliant day and, looking back, a very impressive cup run - all SL teams beaten inc Bradford and Saints.

Still makes me chuckle when they were still writing us off saying we were spent when 8-6 up IIRC.

| Absolutely awesome day. I swore blind that it was Charlotte Church singing but i was a little shedded!
After we won i think i rang everyone in my phone book. Then i was hanging out of the back door and sunroof of the people carrier whilst stuck in the traffic jams coming away from Cardiff with two flags in hand and singing old faihful to everybody!!
Rugby wasnt bad either!

Greatest renditions of Old Faithful I've ever heard at that game including Threepenny's in the early 80's

Fully agree. A complete performance, superb kicking game from Brough, Cooke and Horne that day and fantastic defence. I can remember how gutted I was that we didn't draw Toulouse in the semis as it didn't seem we had a chance against either Saints or Leeds yet once we'd kicked off, apart from that wobble when Briscoe/Raynor fumbled and Lyon scored we never looked like losing. Some superb individual plays as well, like Barnett's tackle on Gardner and Raynor's on Darren Albert to force a dropout. When you look back on it, there can have been fewer more impressive paths to the CC than the one we took that year, but the Saints game was the best of the 5 wins.

| The semi was fantastic. The atmosphere was unbelievable, I'll never forget it. One memory that sticks in my mind is when Kearney scored his try they started playing "ain't no stopping us now" over the tannoy it was so relevant.
