| Quote hullbg="hullbg"There will be plenty of selection headaches at the beginning of the season but with our luck with injuries we should be down to a bare 17 by round 5.
Briscoe is still young and i would agree with going for a bit more experience at the beginning of the season.
I would like to see Whiting given a chance at loose man, i think he would add another dimension to the team in that position.'"
Can sympathise with the Whiting thought, but feel Washy is faster and more creative, so see Whiting as a 2nd row replacement.

| Think Turner is seen as a future 6 or 13 and will offer cover there next season.

| Quote Robbo4="Robbo4"Turner as our starting centre? Have you seen enough of him play to come to that conclusion?
Personally I think Craig Hall was excellent in the last half dozen games last season and deserves to start next season.
My main "advice" to Agar is to think long and hard about how he is going to use his pack to the most effect and that includes the impact from the bench. He needs to ask some really tough questions and come up with the right answers. For instance, is it really to the benefit of the team in terms of balance and impact to play Radford at 13? Or are you trying to come up with reasons just to get him in the team because of who he is? ATEOTD whilst loyalty etc is good the most important thing is how we perform and what we want to achieve as a club and if that means ruffling a few feathers then so be it.'"
Agree with alot of this, particularly the radford at 13, I can't believe anyone thinks he should play at 13, and if we're struggling at 13 (due to washy injury), playing radford there is the last option. He's not creative, he's a hard work merchant - love to know Agar's logic there, but fear it's as you suggest - when there's not a place in 2nd row, or prop (where his future lies for me, if at all, if Tickle, manu, Fitz et-al perform).

Not much between them in terms of speed, and Whiting is the cleverer player IMO.

Washbrook's workrate and defence put him head and shoulders above whiting IMO.

| I see no-one can see a place for our captain, Lee Radford.
Nor can many see a place for out goal kicker, Danny Tickle.
Saying that, Fitzgibbon is an excellent goalkicker, and so is Craig Hall. So we won't miss Tickle so much if dropped.
But can anyone really see Agar ever dropping Radford? Has he ever been dropped? Given a full squad, I will place money on Radford being named at 13.
XVII I'd have:
1. Tansey; 2. Calderwood, 3. Hall, 4. Yeaman, 5. Raynor; 6. Horne, 7. Long; 8. Dowes, 9. Berrigan, 10. O'Meley, 11. Fitzgibbon, 12. Manu, 13. Washbrook.
14. Briscoe, 15. Lauaki, 16. Moa, 17. Houghton
Briscoe to cover the backs. Impact in the forwards.
XIII Agar will probably name:
1. Tansey; 2. Briscoe, 3. Hall, 4. Yeaman, 5. Raynor; 6. Horne, 7. Long; 8. Dowes, 9. Berrigan, 10. Cusack, 11. Fitzgibbon, 12. Manu, 13. Radford.
14. Whiting, 15. Lauaki, 16. Moa, 17. O'Meley
He won't drop Radford. He'll start Briscoe.
In fairness, neither side looks too bad. He'll never have a full squad to pick from anyway!

Yes, because all the times Whiting has played 13 his workrate has been rubbish, hasn't it? Or have we not seen enough of him there to make an informed judgement?
I'm with Kosh on this one. I'd have Washy in the side - probably as a second rower in place of the monumental waste of space that is our captain. I'd love to see Whiting given a run at 13 or 6, but fear it may never happen. If it did, I think he'd do really well - particularly outside someone like Long.

| I'd go with Washbrook at 13 at the moment but I don't believe he is that far in front of Whiting. If Washy isn't performing then Whiting should be given ago. Then Turner after him. Unless of an injury crisis, then none of Radford, Fitzgibbon, Tickle, Burnett or Manu should play at 13.
