to be fair the lad wasn't released by either club, he asked to be released from contracts early to play for a team that was gonna give him game time - can hardly blame the kid. and it just so happens that those clubs were lower division, doesn't mean he won't come to Superleague standard one of these days. I think, given chance at our club, he could have come good and be playing regular first team now.

In hindsight he [imight[/i have been useful to us, but that's largely down to the assorted catastrophes that have hit us in that time rather than any particular ability he may possess IMO.

There are pleny of examples of players who had had to drop down a level or released by clubs who have turned out better, all players develop differently so you cant say that becuase he was released by Hull that means he wont make it the top level, there is no set rule each case is individual. As for Thackray, in my opinion he has an excellent "show and go" but dosnt really offer too much else that you would expect from a top class 7, although I must admit he has looked impressive recently and I think he has the quality to make a good 6 in super league. As for him being better then Thorman, yes I think he would do a much better job but so would Scott Rhodes who we had on loan a few years ago and there are many players in the national leagues who would its not that big of an achievement.

how can you say hes not good enough for super league hes only 20-21 int he give a couple of years in div 1 then he might mature into a good larker the problem with the ganme is we are obsessed with kids been in the side liek the way eastmond is the next england half back already according to everyone yet hes only played about 35 games he might be in 3 years but it dont mean we have to pl;ay em now

He's had plenty of chances to show what he's made of and has done nothing to indicate any particular ability.

Tommy Lee is a much better hooker than Houghton imo, who is just a much poorer version of Higham who cannot pass well from dummy half at all.
Plus, I wish people would stop mentioning poor or at best very average players who could do a job for us just because Thorman couldnt organise an orgy in a brothel. We have arguably the best English 7 coming to the club next season
