to be fair the lad wasn't released by either club, he asked to be released from contracts early to play for a team that was gonna give him game time - can hardly blame the kid. and it just so happens that those clubs were lower division, doesn't mean he won't come to Superleague standard one of these days. I think, given chance at our club, he could have come good and be playing regular first team now.

No, just that you can't quantify a players ability by what division he is playing in. Long and Brough amongst plenty of other SL stars dropped down into the national leagues before coming back up and establishing themselves. I believe Thacks would have been a positive for us in the time since we let him go.
