| i think the kc expansion will almost deffo go ahead given that city/duffen are likely to contribute a significant amount towards it.
Quote: " The KC Stadium is our home. Whether it remains at 25,000 or is increased to 40,000 we are staying there and thank God. It's the best RL ground in the country. '"
I 100% agree , the kc is [ithe[/i best ground in the SL (but perhaps not the best RL ground in the SL) but would you want to be in a three quater full all seater ground ?
funding for a new shared ground , I have to agree , would be an issue though

I cant see us moving out of the KC, Part of me doesn't want us to move out of the KC. But part of me would like to see us move into a re-developed Boulevard.
I would never wont us to move in with the dobbins, that just wouldn't work at all.
The KC is our home now and no one can kick us out so were here to stay! 24,404 or 40,000 its our home.

DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION/CAPACITY
Designed by the Miller Partnership, adopting initial concept proposals by Arup Associates, the stadium comprises a state-of-the-art all-seater spectator arena with a capacity of 25,404.
It is designed as a single tier, asymmetrical bowl of approximately 20,000 seats with a second upper tier to the West Stand of over 5,000 seats.
Future expansion of the East Stand will be possible to raise the stadium capacity to 30,000.
Capacity of each individual stand
Also incorporated in the Stadium complex is a 1,500 seat Sports Arena, skate park, two multi-use all weather pitches, and a community learning zone, complete with classrooms, health & fitness suite, cyber café and library. The Council’s Sports Development department is also located at the Stadium.
The total project cost was approximately £44 million.
Construction of the Stadium took 14 months to complete.
Approximately 3225 tonnes of steel was used in the construction of the Stadium Complex.
It took approximately 6469 cubic metres of concrete to build the Stadium. '"

| We would need a 16,000 average to make the 40% mark criteria if the capacity was increased to 40k. The only main downside for me.
People complain that it would look empty, and the atmosphere would be crap, etc. Look around you. The atmosphere has been pretty poor for a while anyway, and if you just don't open the upper tier then the ground will still look full in parts. Just put in big adverts to cover the seats up the upper tier during our games.
I'm an FC fan through and through and cannot stand football or Hull City, but let's be realistic. The stadium WILL get expanded eventually. If City consolidate for a couple of seasons (big if that!) then it would be stupid of them not to expand. It would pay for itself within a couple of seasons and would bring them a lot of money for players. They might not fill it every game, but they'd certainly use the extra capacity. And if they did get relegated for one year, the amount of fans that renew their passes prior to even knowing this fact would easily give them huge crowds in the Championship for the time being. And let's not forget the Championship is the 4/5th biggest league in Europe IIRC. And with the amount of foreign businessmen buying football clubs these days, you never know!
The KC is our home, yes. I enjoy the KC very much. I do miss terracing however, and think our atmosphere suffers because of it. An 18k stadium with a mixture of terracing and seats would be class. Think Keepmoat but with a side-stand completely terraced. Apart from Rovers, we rarely get above 15k so that would be ideal. You could always move the derby to the KC to take advantage of the extra capacity.
Would I want us to share a stadium with Rovers? I would only consider it if everything was completely 50:50, which unfortunately I don't think it ever could be. All the seats would have to be white. Any other colour would be sponsor related, and not black or white. It would have to be somewhere in North Hull and on top of the River Hull (dig the tunnel for the river to go both sides of the stadium like a moat so that it is neither east or west of the river). We'll have Fridays, they can have Sundays so there are no game clashes.
And the only way this could happen is if Hull City buy the stadium off the council and the council use this money to fund a new stadium for the rugby (which in fairness would be cheaper than what they paid to build the KC). The only way they could buy the stadium would be if FC allow it. And the only way FC would allow it would be if there is another stadium in the pipeline. And if there is a smaller stadium with cheaper rent, that would be better for us, surely? Throw in an agreement that we can use the KC once a year for the derby game (guaranteed!) and we'd have best of all world for us, City and the Council (and possibly Rovers if we had to share with someone).
