| Quote Dave K.="Dave K."Personally I'm worried about Hall's defence, his mistakes he was making week in are my main concern
Saying that he has been played out of position.
Dont think he has played one game at centre for the first team this year.
Can see why he was dropped, but he should have had another chance by now.'" That makes me feel so much more confident - apparently, he is coming to us!

I should take a look at Whiting's game to try ratio this season......

| Probably the best for all concerned for Hall to go out out loan. He is a talented player that needs to work on some of the more basic (ugly) elements of the game and a spell in NL1 should do him good. I do wish people would stop excusing his errors and poor defence just because he has a bit of flair in attack though. I agree with the poster who said he hasn't progressed since he first came into the team. He still makes the same errors and doesn't seem to be learning from them, thats not just down to the coach its also about the players attitude IMO. I hope his spell at Widnes does the trick and he come back a better player.

| Quote downtheante="downtheante"Yeaman's defence this year has been great, Witings is good and I admit Horne missed a few. But Hall's defence is terrible - it's as simple as that. He has a great attacking flair and accelleration off the mark that you can't teach, and an uncanny knack of finding the tryline. I really rate him as a prospect and expect/hope that Agar will play him again this year at centre now that the grounds are harder. I don't think Saints is the game though because they know he has recently been low on confidence and would target him pitilessly. I think he needs to play either a lower competitive grade (not in the reserves) or SL level to sort his defensive frailties out - but, in my opinion, his defence is nowhere near as good as the three you have mentioned (yet).'"
Yeaman puts in the odd big hit but his winningness to rush out of teh line trying to make it leaves us exposed frequently

The stats show that we have a lot of high tackles missed individually including high figures from R Horne, Tickle, Manu and others (admittedly, also including Yeaman).
Just to prove myself completely wrong, Craig Hall's missed tackles are very low: 4 out of 7 games. Interestingly Whiting and G Horne's missed-tackle stats are pretty good compared with other centres.
So I probably have to admit that my perception about Yeaman's defence is wr... wr.... wr... sorry can't type it. Might have to change those rose-tinted lenses for the Saints match.

Indeed, he misses far more tackles when he rushes out of the line than he hits. See last years CC final for a glaring and awful example of his dubious defence on our line.

A lot of a centres "missed" tackles won't show on the stats as they're only tackles attempted and not completed. Doesn't reflect how many times a centre is out of position. None of them are great but I would have probably said g horne is our best defensive centre
