| an old fc programme from a car boot yesterday and looking at the team i were impressed by the quality ov the players we had at the time......the squad in 81/82 were :clive sullivan,lee crooks,sammy Lloyd,keith tindall,gary kemble,mick sutton,charlie stone,paul prendiville,james leuluai,mick crane,ian madley,trevor skerrett,dane o`hara,steve norton,chriss harrison,graham walters,tony dean,david topliss,ronnie wileman,clive pickerill........some legends there.

I know the sport has changed since then, but fitness apart, for Mick Crane in particular  , I reckon nine of those players would walk into any SL team.

84-85 the team was in decline. Too many players past their best. Sterling pretty much carried the team to Wembley on his shoulders

I'd even go far as to say 10.
Sully - try scorer extrodinaire
Crooks - tackles, offloads, kick goals what more do you want from a forward
Tindall - proper grafter
Kemble - greatest 1 on 1 tackler, uber reliable under high ball, attack return. well just immense
lullaby - could waltz his way through a defence
Craney - super gifted player & a decent tackler.
Skerrett - one of the best Hull forwards ever especially in defence.
Knocker - cream of the cream
Toppo - would look like superman in todays game with his skills
Dean - very much underated & great exponent of the DG
