My parents do, as it is the only radio channel they listen to. I suspect many other (probably older) people as well find themselves in a similar situation, so the club just cuts off the only news access available to a large part of our fan base.

Burnsy also had a spat with Phil Brown a few weeks ago - not sure if City banned Humberside or just refused to speak to him. Maybe we should have done the same rather than a complete ban.

Interesting stuff, so thats Grimsby Town not letting them broadcast games or interview players, City's manager refusing to talk to Burns and now we ban them again. For whatever reason the comment about running out was just out of order, and you will know what I thought at the rime about that if you read the diary. I know of several (of which I am not one) who have complained about it to the Broadcast standards watch dog!

Still its another good excuse for certain on here to have another go at the club! For me they could have found another way to target the individual concerned because at present it seems to be only him that is causing the problem!

Still they have not been speaking for two weeks now and it has hardly made a difference. Those who listen to Sportstalk will know that it is scewed in certain directions, something that Shorpe fans are always complaining about!!

Sportstalk is a controversial and candid talk show. Its that what makes it appealing to many fans although its never nice when negative comments are often about your club.

As much as it hurts to say it there is a world of difference between how our club and the Hull KR clubs are run and also the relationships they have with their fans.

There is an alternative now though in KCFM and James Rule states that Radio Humberside will still be commentating on games so if your parents can't attend games the commentry will still be there for them.

My main point was the sports talk programme not the commentry, i can't believe people would want to listen to that, it's embarrassing!!

Not really, he's told us that all interviews etc. Will be done through KCFM, it's only a case of turning a dial.
Although it does seem silly to ban a full station because of 1 trouble causer.

Their commentary team for rugby league is:

Gwilym Lloyd - Rovers
Chris Park - Rovers
Nick Pinkney - Rovers
Lee Richardson - fairly balanced
Craig Murdock - FC

To his credit, Lloyd does usually attempt to be even-handed but there are times when he gets carried away, like the Dobson drop goal at Odsal which he described in terms more appropriate to a last minute GF winner. Other than Murdock (who incidentally is the best commentator and analyst of any of them, despite his FC bias, IMO) they do all see the world through Rovers eyes.

TBH Suzie, I think the sports programme is absolute drivel - I never listen to it. I was really referring to the after match interviews and daily sports summary (which I didn't make clear) rather than that idiotic nightly programme.

KCFM seems to have cut back on its daily sports bulletins - the 6:30 & 7:30 ones have now disappeared (as has the news that precedes it). The hourly news now seems to be outsourced, and the sports summary they have on after this quite often has mistakes in it, and in my opinion is pretty poor. RH's news summaries during the day were usually better reported (and I'm sure Burnsy wasn't involved in these).

All we'll get now from RH is the usual snide, schoolboy comments, as per usual. Wonder it Mike White will stick his point of view on here though - he's made some impartial comments in the past.
