| Quote The Video Ref="The Video Ref"This season apart Calderwood has been probably the second best British winger in the competition second only to Raynor.
It now looks as if we have both England wingers. :3g55w9dsWhy are we moaning?[/

| Quote The Key="The Key"You mean the same as players such as Hodgson, Brown, Robinson, Tickle, Wild, Hargreaves, Orr, Godwin etc etc, who have all had bad times at Wigan, but then left and become much better players? And also gone to lower clubs with the exception of Saints, to do so?'"
I personally rated all of these except Hargreaves and Tickle when they was still at Wigan. The difference is I thought Leeds got rid of Calderwood at the right time. Almost every single poster on the Wigan forums say he's never regained his pace after his ankle injury. Unfortunately he never had much else other than pace.

Really? I thought the rest were tripe tbh, and Robinson is the only one I don't rate much now. For some reason, Wigan has an effect on players. How many players in the past 5 years can you say have gone to Wigan and been a success, or have improved the performances compared to how they performed at their last club?

No I kind of agree. Wigan's recruitment policy has been as bad as ours when it comes to signing UK players that have already peaked. They seem to have addressed this problem recently and are letting one of their mistakes come to us. Fielden as an example is a strange one because I don't think he's been awful, just not as good as he was at Bradford.

| Your wingers don't have to be outstanding world class players.
He has pace which is vital in that position. As long as he can form a good understanding with whoever is playing at centre inside him he should go ok as defensively the can assist each other through the game

| A good signing I think, he has pace which is what you want from your wingers. His marker defence will be useful too, hopefully it might rub off on a few people.

To be honest I think their recruitment policy has been good, its just whoever has been in charge has never been able to get the best out of them at all for some reason.

At last someone speaks sense! Personally I don't think he would be a bad signing. Yes he's had a bad season, but so have we as a club, does that make us a bad team? No. A winger needs to be fast, have an eye for the tryline, and be reliable under the high ball, Calerwood has all those attributes. He's not the best defender in the world, but does a winger need to be? He's an experienced player who has a good 5-6 years ahead of him, imo a worthwhile signing.
Calderwood aside, has anyone heard any other names we may be linked with?
