He's not, as it happens. Cooke has a decent short kicking game and a good cut out pass. He was playing in a good Hull side and his skills were used effectively. Whiting hasn't had much of a chance in a palymaking role, but the skills he's shown in the roles he has been asked to play have been very good.

How can one argue against something so utterly stupid. To seriously suggest that Schofield would be as worthy of a place in our side as Whiting is just nonsense. There's no need to argue against it as it's so patently ridiculous.

You see, you're talking nonsense again. Schofield was a great player. But because I suggest one of our current players reads the game very well doesn't mean that Schofield at 50-odd should be brought back from retirement. It's nonsense. At best.

My point, which I have repeated several times, is that he can read the game [ivery well[/i. He's better at it than most. It's a particular strength he has compared to other players. All pro RL players can read the game, run, pass and tackle. Some do certain things a lot better than others. As per the examples I posted earlier.

Turner - hard to say as he's a bit unproven. Hall is a centre who can play wing at a push - nothing else. Whiting we've already covered. Washbrook is a back rower who plays stand off in an emergency. That someone is forced to play a position because of lack of options doesn't make them a utility. He's a back rower.
