| What a shame it has taken Hood getting a ban for Bowes to get a look in after impressing in his appearances up to date and that’s not even certain yet!!
I wasn’t impressed that Willie was changed for Applegarth. But what I did expect was that he would have really used the youngsters a lot more especially after the dross that has been served up by the team. What I didn’t expect was that he would straight away fall into the trap of playing players because of either their Name or wage!!
He’s done himself no favours at all. I’d have been less critical if after say 4 games and it wasn’t working he decided to give the kids a good run, at least there would have been an excuse as to why we were getting nilled each week.
But no instead we go and swap our better younger talent, get two week loan deals in and he’s ok with that as the ex under 21’s coach?
What the hell does he think he was coaching them for?
Where do we go from here?
More importantly how do we change what’s happening?

| We don't change anything, we can't unfortunately.
Its up to Mr Carter to totally change the way he does things, n that ain't ever going to happen.
His clubs in a right state and it's only going to get worse while ver he remains associated with Trinity.

| It's how youngsters usually get their chance, although to bring in a young 9 on loan from Wigan was a bit of a slap in the face.
Anyhow I hope Bowes takes the opportunity. We're heading down so we need to start planing for next season, players like Bowes and Eseh will play a large part of that hopefully.

| Also, when Forber came in it was because we had injuries. That was the point of the loans at the time. That's why Mason has gone back as well as Bowden is back.
And when Forber played, he played 2 games. Mash said we were down to our last 17........and he and Bowes both played against Sts.
So I think Bowes is probably OK with it.

Agree ,Applegarth as got rid of our young talent and any younger player W Poaching had brought in ,Just watched best bits of HKR game v Cas on there TV and Hall looked class Think this sums up how bad our coaches are. They are destroying the confidence of the youngsters, in fact go as far as to say there not wanted by them. I no a lot of supporters who are cancelling there subscription to help keep the youngsters at the club because of the attitude of the new coaching set up

| Why are we still drawing conclusions from something that isn't true.
Bowes played in the same game as Forber.
It was pretty clear that in pre season some of our talented youngsters are not quite ready for playing SL.
No point getting them battered and then opened up to the criticism they'll get on social media like Butterworth.

| What you’ve got to recognise is that the majority of the young lads that have made the Super League squad over the last few years weren’t identified and signed by Mark Applegarth but by his predecessor Richard Kelly.
Batchelor
Aydin
Hall
Bowes
Butterworth
Kershaw
Croft
Shaw
Windrow
Abraham
Schoffield
and I’m sure I’ve missed some, we’re all signed by Kelly.
Now maybe I’m wrong but Applegarth wouldn’t be the first coach who judged another coaches players more harshly than other players.
That doesn’t explain the absence of Eseh but Bowes has certainly been hard done by IMO and why hasn’t Windrow been given a chance. Then there’s the almost eager acceptance to let such as Aydin, Hall, Croft, shaw and Batchelor leave when they’re better than what’s been retained and recruited as replacements.

It was pretty clear in pre season games that 85% of the first team was not up to S L so why get rid of the younger better players

Not to mention thet they were "our" players so, no additional loan fees to pay.
The whole idea of 2 week loans seems utterly crazy. All we are doing is helping other teams' get their players match fit and sending a message to our own youngsters that they are not good enough.
I have to say that, personally, I'm on the brink.
Close to 40 years watching Trin and supporting them home and away, plut the lottery etc but we have swapped crumbling stands for a crumbling side.
We're in our 150th year but, we're keeping it a secret.
Saints have the same anniversary included on their shirts this season.
As a super leagues side, we have simply given up and there seems little thought to the future (or the present ) as a team.

| To quote the title of this thread “ shame” the biggest shame is how , at the moment , we are going out of super league in a whimper !! 150 years will mean nothing .. we will be remembered for the disaster of this year ! I can’t remember the last time I didn’t consider going to a match .. in 60 yrs … but cannot justify the expense of a trip line Wigan to get nothing in return . The 60 .0 drubbing was bad enough . . In past years we’ve had blow out scores but … we have competed in most games . Unfortunately we are way off this year .. I just feel v sad and live in hope something is done to turn it around while it’s still possible to save the season !!

You think Bowes was ok with being left out in that first game for a young lad brought in from Wigan when he’d played in probably our best performance of the season against Salford the week before? Give over. And for me i’d have rather but Butterworth on the bench for the Saints game rather than someone else's kid. Maybe show a bit of belief in him and boost his confidence after his debut.
And there was no point whatsoever in the Mason loan. He left Eseh, Battye & Butler out against Cas, we weren’t short of props. It was a signing for signings sake and like Forber completely unnecessary
