| Why did Wigan refuse to let him come to Wakefield on loan?

| Because we're @*~@! He's hardly ready to carry a team like ours round the pitch on his own At Cas he can share the work load with at least three other play makers.

| Cos they didn't think it would do owt for his development I presume. The idea of loaning a player is to keep em fit and go to a coach who can learn him good habits and improve his game, as a former international back wane must have thought powell was just the man

| I heard that we did everything possible to get Hampshire, the only issue was that Wigan felt that Cas were a better option for their player. For me Ryan would have been better of a Wakey because he would get a game every week, he is the best player of his generation, he would be the best player by a mile at Trinity. I would also have made him captain. Understand that Roberts at Cas may be missing the next few games so you would think that Cas would play him now. Also Cas are a competitor for a top four spot with Wigan, we do not compete with Wigan on any front. I think Wigan made a mistake, one Ryan should be in their starting 13 ahead of Smith and two we would have been a better option.

| I'm looking forward to Rocky getting his chance now that Roberts is injured.
I think Wigan probably looked at the success the Cas coaching team had with Sneyd and Gale. Both raw young half backs when they came to Cas but both improved out of all recognition. Hope we can do the same for Hampshire.

I wouldn't have called Gale a raw young halfback when he joined you, but he has improved dramatically thanks to Powell's turd polisher.

| If Anderson had told him he wanted him to play in the backs' and not specifically at full back, he'd probably be at hudds now.

| Quote: newgroundb4wakey "icon_biggrin.gif Fair comment mate I suppose I could have put it better. However Gale did come from a team that had just been relegated as did Matt Cook, Denny solamona and Mike Mcmeeken who have all performed well for Cas under Powell. It just goes to show that there is talent available that haven't been reaching their potential under other coaches.
Exactly it shows there is talent out there and Powell knows how to spot it. The skill of Powell doesn't end there, he also knows
were the dead wood in his squad is and the phone number he needs to ring to off load it.
