I know there's been discussion regarding a minutes silence at soccer matches at the weekend. Does anyone know if there is one planned at RL matches specifically ours v Warrington? I emailed the club but had no answer.

Wakey council have decided not to fly the flag at half mast (as is cutomary for the death of ex-PM's) I can't see any club in Yorkshire honouring her.

I don't think that will happen "up north". Some union clubs "darn sarf" might do. She was as popular as a turd in a swimming pool in this area.

Not only bacause it'd show totaly ignorance as to the history of the region and probably 80% of it's fans, but also because I can't imagine 8000 northerners respecting it, which would get unhealthy media coverage.

Generally speaking I think Thatcher was one of the better leaders this country has produced. However she is a politician in a democracy and generally those people don't get minutes silence or for that matter state funerals. TBH any abuse she gets for dying disgusting though it is is not helped by the Tories and Westminsters attempts to elevate here to sainthood.

History will decide her eventual place nd until it does a normal funeral and perhaps a memorial would have done just fine and we wouldn't have this bitching. Devicive in life and now in death although the latter is not her fault.
