| Hope the club get behind this.
We should aim for 1,000 - 1,500 at the first game of the season.
With it being on Sky, the club need to be planning this now. It would
look and sound fantastic on TV to have a large away following.
With so many new season ticket holders, subsidised travel linked to
purchasing tickets in advance from the club, I qwould like to think
that I am being realistic.
If it works, why not do the same for Catalans away. Aim for 1,000 in
Perpignan. We are going at the right time of the year and there are so
many travel options available, especially using a base in Spain, where
it is cheaper to stay.
Anybody got any thoughts on drumming up support?

for the start of the season that would be a modest amount to take
being a friday night I normally take the lad training but for this game it does appeal to me to get the wifey to take him instead

| Trinity away support is generally good and with being first match of season and new squad new start we will take a good following . Last season I didn't bother with many away matches as it was hard enough watching us at home. This season with us having alot more of a competitive side I'll be trying to make it to most of our aways. Widnes first match of season is a definite it will be a good test plus like the ground and the Widnes lot are decent RL fans. Got to make saints & Salford away just to tick my grounds I've been to list.

| Agreed.
Big away followings are what we've missed in the Championship. No disrespect to other clubs in that league but they don't bring fans in numbers (apart from Leigh) and the atmosphere is lacking because of it.
Get yourselves over here and make it a big occasion!!

Some talk of Bradford Northern and some of Hull and Leeds
Of Wigan and St Helens and such great teams as these
Of all the teams in Rugby league with me you will agree
The best team in the whole wide world is Wakefield Trinity!

| We need to be getting on the phone to every coach provider in West Yorkshire & touting our business.
If we could provide good quality coach travel for minimal price (by booking in numbers- much like the ST deal) we could really be onto something.
I seem to remember CT doing something similar to London on a number of years, this must be almost 10 years or so ago, but remember thinking what a good idea it was. Why not roll it out on a more permanent/semi permanent basis. If we could find a large provider who was willing to work with us on this I could see it being a big success.
Having only ever used the WT coaches on a rare basis I was always impressed by the group atmosphere (especially in the pre-SL days) & wondered why it never caught on more amongst the wider WT community. This new regime is becoming very progressive with its marketing strategies & I think this could be a good next move for WT.

I agree it would be great to have cheap travel and send lots of fans to Widnes for this game, it would show Eddie and that other idiot that we are here to stay BUT----
A few points to ponder, what about Wisca and the original supports club who run travel week in week out for fans and have done for many years.
Should we be hurling money at away games with little financial benefit to our club.

lets take the 4 nations final as a for instance we got the bus and ticket for £16 adult and £11 for the lad traveling from Stanley Rangers taxi there and back a tenner, it was a good evening out without the hassle of driving.
if there was more than the two focal points that has been used in the past it may increase the amount that goes to away games
with the price of fuel going up its more likely to attract
one to work on

| It be nice to see a good following, and it would look good for your club to see the 2000 away fans on sky.Everyone is moaning on Virtual Terrace of this game on sky, so lets get marketing and prove them wrong.Unfortunanetly i can not make the game due to work, but i will be able to see on Sky.

| I also work Friday nights but I'm not missing this one. Night off for me, I wanna see our brand new team all make their debuts in Super League. A wagon train of coaches across the M62 sounds fantastic, I've travelled on the coach before, always great banter, a good crowd, guess the gate and the score, all adds up to a great night out for me.

| Some very good thoughts, I'm sure when the club "look in" they will take it on board.
