Whatever the problem with the lights it's ridiculous. I mean games of football and other things have had the lights on for the required time because I can see them walking the dogs on a night, so I haven't a clue what the problem is.
I know one thing though, come the start of the season, the owner will sort it out because he'll think it reflects on him, which it slightly does. but why tonight has it been so bad?'"
I’m guessing it’s an overloaded circuit somewhere, kept tripping a fuse and having to be reset every-time. It’s probably because the stadium was in full swing for the first time, hospitality, bars, floodlights, everything. The football won’t have tested it like that so haven’t triggered the problem

Yeah, you're probably right mate, like you say all the extra strain on the main circuit and plug-ins that we haven't had down there before, will have stretched it more than any testing scenario would have. You'd have thought there was a way where electricians who are experienced in this, which I'm not by any stretch, would be able to estimate what the total power would be with everything on and plugged in, so then they could have fitted more powerful fuses. I bet Matt had a sweat on tonight when it should have been a good night for him. As I said, I bet he's on the job first thing and hopefully, it's as easy as installing more powerful fuses, etc.

Talking of football, you could definitely see where they have worn the pitch and there was no grass left along the touch lines. Now Matt Ellis owns the club I am sure we could manage without that lot playing in the stadium. I bet Steve the Bath would like to see the back end of them

| In regards the performance I thought Wakey were excellent.
Given the hype around the Wigan pack I thought Trinity bullied them at times. Uele in particular I thought was outstanding when he came on.
Played some really nice rugby and looked like we were gelling well as a unit.

| Our number 6, he didn't look like our official squad number 6.
Lawford has the squad number 24.
Did he pick up the wrong shirt?

| Lighting aside, I thought we looked really good tonight.
Would still rather see Max at full back and Walmsley on the wing, proves we have options.
Lawford looks a real prospect.
Is Lino still unfit?

| I thought the new stand was great tonight, good view, decent amount of space, fairly priced food and drink.
Wakey played well, but remember, going off the shirt numbers it was against Wigan's 2nd/3rd team.
The light situation was embarrassing. I counted them going off 11 times during the game. They were in use for the last football match and I don't remember issues then but believe they went off a few matches prior.

| A tad silly, I had paid for 5 friends to come along. Not a massive financial contribution but still enough, all were disappointed to say the least regarding the lights.
They did however have massive appreciation for the rugby. Pointing (unknowingly) a lot of youngsters out asking how long they’d actually been playing as they looked very composed. lawford and Pratt included heavily in this.
Thomas Doyle looked very handy at Hooker, Jerry looks almost unstoppable from 10m out . Could keep going throughout the squad.
For the 60 minutes we played, I came away more than pleased,
I heard a lot of drivel coming from the new stand though, fans chanting about Chester and ex players. Hope we haven’t attracted the wrong type with cheaper tickets.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| Quote: Luppylad "Granted there back line wardle apart wasnt a strong wigan side but there pack was definitely farrell apart full strength'"
I mean…
Wardle
Leeming
O’niell
Mago
Byrne
Ellis
Thomson
Chan
Hill
Dupree
With good SL experienced players in Hampshire and Eseh.
I thought we went very well and didn’t really look like trinity needed to get out of 2nd gear most of the game. Truth be told I don’t think Wigan broke the trinity line once for 62minutes and scored through a set with 2 restarts for repeat sets and a kick (clever one though).
Yes there was some youth on the edges but that team would have beaten most championship sides.
Let’s not forget trinity were missing a few in Vagana, Thornley, Bain, Lino and Gale. With Jowitt and Walmsley playing out of position.
I thought that Lawford and Pratt for two young lads look very promising. I’d even be very tempted to stick with Lawford in the team and get a string of games under his belt. Looks a talent. Pratt is very strong for his age.

Indeed. That pack will be playing against Penrith in a couple of weeks.

| Trinity statement-
Quote: "The club would like to apologise to fans, Wigan Warriors and especially to Matty Ashurst for the issues which saw the match tonight abandoned after just over an hour.
Prior to the game we identified an electrical issue with the new sub station which was installed by contractors. This resulted in the big screen, Brookey’s Bar and Street Kitchen being closed down and switched off in order to try and manage the problem.
Throughout extensive testing in weeks leading up to the game, the club have had multiple successful floodlight tests and have encountered no similar issues.
As the game went on, we realised the issue had not been solved and we continued to attempt to isolate the problem alongside our duty electrician within the ground.
Unfortunately we were unable to solve the problem which led to referee Chris Kendall abandoning the game due to a player safety issue.
The club will now be doing everything in their power to swiftly resolve the issue and guarantee that this issue will never happen again. Plans are already in motion to hire a new electrical team to source a backup generator.
We would like to thank everyone who attended the game tonight in support of Matty Ashurst.'"

what's the name of that right tall forward they signed from Leeds, don't think you mentioned him. I thought he was their most dangerous forward and will definitely be a first team starter.
Which ever way you look at things, their pack last night is better than most other SL teams. The fact we stood up to them was a fantastic effort from our lads
