I'd suggest that all supporters should keep their expectations low. I find it highly unlikely that this announcement will be anything of major significance. More than likely it'll be Ted addressing the fans and enlightening them to his and the clubs vision to take the club forward in the near future. I'd assume this will include the clubs intention to move to NM and to also rule out GH even on a temporary basis. I'm speculating here, but i'd imagine the plan will include a short term relocation whilst NM is being made ready with the temporary location being Oakwell.

I'd like to commend Ted though for keeping us informed in person on matchday in what must be quite an intimidating position to be. It's all too easy to criticise the club for a lack of communication, but here we have Ted addressing the fans in person whether it be good or bad news. So well done to the club

And if we've shipped in over 30 by half time, his job won't be any easier. As you said, though, fair play to the guy for having the cojones to stand out there and deliver the news. Many wouldn't...

Amazed no-one else has said this yet, but surely this is an attempt to get more paying customers through the turnstiles just to hear something we could all probably guess at. Following the negativity surrounding grounds and the defeat last week to major rivals i'd have been amazed if the club hadn't tried to boost the gate with some gimmick or another.

It could be, but then why announce it online the evening before the game? How many extra paying customers would you expect to see with that marketing strategy? I know this is Wakey, but come on...

Word of mouth too? I'd imagine over 75% of your fanbase have access to the Internet or access the Trin website.

Aye, but most of them would prefer to creosote the garden fence than watch paint dry these days...

It may be a touch of marketing genious, of course - the crowd figures will provide the answer - but it seems to me to be a simple case of doing what's necessary when it's necessary. And fair play to the Wakey chairman for doing it.

I also think it will be an announcement to say we will plough ahead with NM and no to GH, i for one hope for this and as much as i love my club i would rather see it fight a brave death then end up playing in Cas. I would also like the same response from Cas, we need to stand and fight for our history, both our clubs have survived some real difficult times in recent years and this should just be another battle in the saga. Too much emphasis is on SL and it is wrong. We all want to expand the game but this should not be done if it is killing clubs. I will happily watch a Fev Wakey derby in the national leagues, rather that than sit in a black and amber stadium, just like i expect Cas fans to be their way, I love Wakefield Trinity first and RL second, no Wakey then my interest in the game would wane but i would probably watch more ama games as a result. Be strong peeps on both sides of the district and we may once get what i truly feel we both deserve. In the end we all want the same thing but we have idiots a plenty on both sides who just want to beat the other we really should be standing strong shoulder to shoulder rather than carrying on like this.

Respect to Fully on this thread.

Or the fact that before the end of the game whatever he has said will be all over this forum so save the £20 and tune into RLFANS...

Thinking about it this is one of the clubs better marketing ideas!

If your read the official statement about today's announcement it states that it is to confirm where the wildcats will be playing in 2012 when they leave Hearapindrop stadium. NM or GH won't be ready for the start of 2012 so I would suspect that today's announcement is the club will be playing at Barnsley of the 2012 season.

I heard a little whisper regarding the announcement last night. It seems that there still needs to be some negotiation regarding Belle Vue, with in effect it currently being 'owned by WT and the developer. I think I heard it correct, apparently there are several options regarding the 'split up' of the pitch :
The pitch is split along the half-way line, a preferred option to some as we seem to have been playing in our own half for most of the season.
The pitch is split 50/50 length-ways, an option favoured by Ted as it would result in only putting out 1/2 a team and we could then cut wage costs.
The whole playing area is reduced by 50%, one that JK prefers as he thinks that teams wouldn't be able to beat us on the outside (I'm not so sure about this).
A radical idea proposed by the players is that WT have the pitch for one half and the developers have it for the other, this idea seems to have some merit as the players have already been practising this .
The final option I heard him say was the London model, whereby the pitch is split diagonally 50/50, just like a Harlequin design; the main stumbling block being that the RFL wouldn't prop it up financially ala the original model.

We will just have to wait and see eusa_whistle.gif

To hope the statement is quite big as the words 'significant' and 'meaningful' are used in davides statement. So don't be too negative what is it with some wakey fans we are finnally getting some news and some of you are moaning the club cant win.
