I'd say that would be sensible whoever the leader us.
But it isn't Carter. He's going either way.

Got to hit the season running and get some good early wins. If we start off with a couple of shockers there will be 500 or so fans dropping off before you can say "scrappy 10-24 home defeat against Barrow".

| Well no need to rush to thank Applegarth as it looks and sounds like he’s staying on as Head Coach next year so plenty of time.

Here’s to consecutive relegations.

Correct. His constant selection of what must be the worst signing in our history is baffling.
It was though a signing that many of the better judges on here warned would be a poor one. The usual suspects shouted down the concerns. Its a recurring theme.

If Ellis does take over and keeps him in place then he will be up against it from day one, it will be a suicidal move. There is no justification for him to keep his job beyond next week.

| I note he is now apologising to the fans and takes full responsibility for our relegation. The first point is a little too late and it was his fault but not his alone because he was assisted by his fellow conspirators who put together a squad which even a 4 year old would have realised would produce only one outcome.
He now wants an opportunity to carry on, despite the fact his league record is 4 wins out of 26 games which at any other club would have seen him removed.

Yes in any other area of professional sport someone who has managed such a horrendously poor performing team would have been sacked months ago…… to actually persist with the same approach and keeping the coach in charge of such an abysmal team is beyond baffling and will only lead to continuing Trinity decline in my opinion… Trinity aka Bradford.

He actually said it was his job and the other guy was doing the stadium.
Even when he clearly takes blame you want to put words in his mouth.

It was the coach who gave the interview, it was nothing to do with MC. It appears you are getting a little too protective of our director of rugby.

Ultimately our game is results based and what happens on the field is all that matters.

Well right now it's him because no one has taken over but Ellis as you know is on the advisory board and he said in the interview that they are consulting.

| The worry is that it’s Carter for the last 3 years or more and Applegarth who’ve made this years signings which have been misguided and pretty poor. So if it’s the same two making decisions and 18/19 signings for next season then it’s very worrying on two fronts.
Firstly, they’ve proven to be poor judges of player suitability and have been happy to settle for cheap less than average options.
Secondly, if Applegarth is choosing next years players it strongly indicates that he’ll be the coach again next year
I’m fully aware that we need to have some players signed up for next year but if we’re going to run with a core squad of 22/23 then 18/19 players signed up leaves little room for a real change of playing personnel and having the same coach as well is disheartening to say the least.
Surely if we’re going to change the head coach then you must leave a big part of the player budget for that new coach to choose his players and shape the squad the way he wants it.
Everything is pointing to same again next year
