I think the out of position thing is going over the top.
The only person not playing a position they have played on a regular basis is Mathers.

Quote: FickleFingerOfFate "That's the thing, some people will be happy with today's result after the shed load of points we have conceded lately.
Finishing 12th this year is acceptable but no one is coming up, so I fear for us next year.
Who is going to help us next season?
We should be aiming for 10th this year.'"

We've got to be realistic with the turmoil at the start of this season staying in the 12 this season would be a success taking us into next seasons new structure with full funding. Until we get into the new ground or get a sugar daddy on board we're highly likely to be involved in the end of season middle tier, and doing that as a SL club is vital because it will be hard in that middle 8 as a championship club

Quote: Tricky2309 "Without the 18 they scored off our errors we might have had a sniff at winning it'"
got that dead right tricky. thought Lucas had a great game and Wakey played some decent rugby. cut out the errors and we won't be far away. Scruton didn't look as though he is at 100%. thought Raleigh took it to them up front. I'd still like to see Pitter with Sammut in the halves. mathers back to fullback and mcshane and matty at interchange. I said last week i saw improvement against cas . when you think cas have just done wire by 40 points to 6 we didn't do too bad and this week there was another definite improvement. the effort and the graft was there to be seen

Eh they certainly surprised by the score, but then the brother in law who doesn't miss games came round and said Huddersfield were rubish

Quote: upthecats "In an ideal World yes.....the type of things that have been tried of late are all things you would do in pre-season are they not? Maybe that is why we have been up against it....when 3 of the players arrived just days before the opening match and then 2 more pivot players have arrived since.....add in to that the poor form Mathers was showing and the calls from every man and his dog to drop him and that might be why there has been so much shuffling around.....it aint been ideal, but it still isn't the end of the World yet.....we've been getting beat but there is definite signs we have wins in us......keep the faith....'"

As we have had late arrivals, would it not be sensible, that when you find half back pairing that works and is going well, to leave it alone?
Don't think it would have mattered if the players had arrived 3 months before the start of the season rather than 3 days, still think there would have been silly positional choices and shuffling about.
Got a blank weekend next week, let's see if they have 'gelled' by the next game?
If Walshaw played well today, will he be dropped so Lyne can be accommodated?
I wait for the next instalment of this mystery tour.

As for Walshaw playing, if Keinhorst wasn't injured I'd bet that he'd be selected before him. Nice to hear him playing well though.

Thought some of your young players put some effort in today, the tall blond lad at left centre looked decent as did the half back, Siejka ??

To be fair there were 2 poor sides on show today, don't think we ever got out of 1st gear but never looked like losing, some of your players looked half ar$ed at times and clearly Agar is no motivating them to be better.

Agar really does not know his best pivots? Surely the game v St.Helens at home tells him Mathers at 1, Sammut 6, Godinet 7, Mcshane at 9 with Tautai at 13? Siejka/Wildie bench hooker/utility. We need an additional prop playing at loose forward who is a handful like Tautai/Moore to help us with real go forward. Washbrook is not good enough at present IMHO.

Not sure all Sammut's efforts in defence take away some of his energy to create at fullback? eusa_think.gif

wakefieldwildcats.co.uk/news/aga ... y/2014/04/?

“It’s been hard for us to know what our best 1, 6, 7, 9 combination has been because we’ve playing with such a limited amount of football. It gives him (Sammut) the opportunity to get on more plays with us and it gives him the freedom in attack to use his great attributes which are his speed and anticipation.

“It takes away a little of the ball playing responsibilities for him. It’s difficult to know what’s best for us because we’ve had limited ball and we’ve had to chop and change, sometimes through necessity and sometimes because we don’t feel we have been doing the job well enough. We’ll have a look over these next few weeks.

“Siejka has shown some alright signs. He needs to get a little bit more match fit and Godinet’s shown some really smart pieces of play as well. We’ll have a look and try to find something that works for us and give it a chance.”

Quote: cocker "Next year is not the problem…yet ! Lets just get through this season eh? Not praising/backing Agar but people have made out he'd lost the dressing room and players weren't trying…not so today. Was mentioned on Radio Wakey are having their pre-season now with the late recruitment ….we will see if things are any better after the rest next week.'"

I prefer to try and be a bit more pro active and look past the end of my nose.
I think next year will be a massive problem as we barely have 2000 season ticket holders, quite a few of these being platinum, how many will renew for next year?
There are players coming out of contract, some that will not sign.
New players coming in, they have to have time to gel.
So we go back to Groundhog Day.
At least Bill Murray tried to stop the same things happening.

The quotes 'limited ball' and 'have to find something that works and give it a chance'.
These are pure gold.
We have had limited ball due to the fact that he found something that worked and gave it a chance, he changed it.

we were pretty dire in a dire game which we always had won.
wakey showed up well in spells especially ryan, walshaw and sammut.
but it was a pretty low key game with lots of errors and stop start
we got the points but it won't be worth watching the highlights

Correct, i was stood with a few trin fans last week. We all agreed that in january, 12th would have been good but expectations were built up by some overseas signings that havn't lived up to the hype (yet). Even if you only beat london and bradford that would keep you up in my opinion but is that enough to keep the fans happy and handing the money over. Either way as i've said before i think you will deffo survive.
