| Quote: kinleycat "Ok, i see what you mean.
The hype has only come from the fans, second guessing whats going on.
The Announcements, while not earth shattering were none the less of huge importance as far as our club and its future in SL or elsewhere.
The members club, is a SL requirement and is of huge importance to us, both in trying to attain a franchise, our ability to improve junior development and then keep these players at the club and to grow the support base of the club.
The Ground improvements, again necessary for SL, promises about BV being developed for years by others, to be delivered (hopefully) by AG, our main problem has always been the ground and here we have plans for all to see of a way of at least keeping in with the pack at the bottom end of the stadium argument.
How much will the redevelopment cost and where has that money come from, if others had delivered in the past and that kind of money was made available for team strengthening we would be dancing in the street, but it is needed to be spent on the ground.
The significance of BV remaining our home until NM should not be lost on anyone, as it is our main identity.
The most historic meeting in our history? i can't think of many more historic meetings in our history can you?'"
I understand the importance of what was announced, I understand why Glover has done it in this way. I think the way that the Club has billed the announcement has lead to the (relative) sese of dissapointment.
"I guarantee you won't be dissapointed" or words to that effect were used, and clearly several people are - you only needed to look at the faces after the meeting and read posts on here. But as I said I understand why he did it, if we get the 5k needed to tick the box then the downside is neglegable compared to the potential upside.

I posted some while ago about the gravel voiced blowhard in the glasses and matching khaki trouser/waistcoat combo, who ruined my enjoyment of the Doncaster game; he was on a nearby table last night and started spouting off at the top of his voice - a nice lady sitting opposite promptly ripped a few strips off him and told him to stfu and stfd.
Nice lady, I salute you - it was one of the highlights of the evening.

Like I said yesterday, you can't please all of the people all of the time, the saying is very apt, as far as Trinity fans are concerned.

Mr W. Has a track record of false dawns, broken promises, propaganda and PR spin that stretches back years while Mr G. Has delivered on everything he's promised during his short tenure.
No comparison between the two at all unless you're a Castleford fan and want to tear down Mr G. because he scares you.'"
Been able to state that you will paint a few walls and get the bogs clean, isn't exactly putting your neck on the block is it now. Don't get me wrong, all fan want to hear good news and winge when it's quiet, but I for one trust that the people running the club are making decisions for the right reasons i.e. Ben Bailey Homes etc. RW may (in your eys) be the biggest bull*hitter of all time, but he said the plans would be in before Christmas (that was questionned) it happened, he said that we would get planning permission (that was questionned) it happened. We are dealing with 2 very high profile companies and he has said that planning application will be going in to the council in August, and I believe him.
The point I was trying to make, is that the headline of 'Most important meeting in the clubs history' ended up the same as when big Ted went on the pitch at half-time to say they would definately not be looking at a ground share with Cas (even though we were up for it). In closing, if Cas had announced this world breaking news headline and RW had delivered that................ we would have never heard the end of it.

Let's not cherry pick the promises that RW has made because you know as well as I do that there's more broken ones than kept ones, such as "the financial packages for the stadium delivery are in place"
I stand by my statement, there is no comparison between RW & AG in terms of fulfilling promises, I accept it's very early to judge AG but he's delivered more than a lick of paint and a bottle of Fash Fabreeze.
As for the "possibly biggest announcement in the clubs history" well it wasn't, not yet anyway but the next 2 months may just change that.

| If we get a franchise on the back of this meeting then yes it was the biggest meeting in the history of the club. 6months ago we might not have had a club, should we secure our place then ag has performed a minor miracle

| And people don't forget the lottery is all about framing the future of out club, ag sees youth development as the key to our success all monies from the lottery go to signing developing and retaining the best young players in the game. As je said we no longer want to be seen as a selling club

Can you show me an artical where he actually stated it was in place? You lot shouted from the roof tops saying you haven't got the money, but no where I have seen RW state that the money was there, because I believe I am correct in saying that he stated the stadium could not be build in one phase, but would meet the requirements for a License!!!.
Same as NW, the only people saying you had the funds were your fans.

| I've heard him say it in a TV interview but there are a number of articles that also quote him saying it!
The Castleford Tigers CEO Richard Wright did a webchat this week - details at the following link -
Hi Richard, first obvious question isAll elements of the funding package are in place and in the longer term we believe we can deliver the 15,000-capacity stadium. However, the recession is slowing everything down and it is harder to unlock the elements of the funding package. We have considered phasing due to the time scales of the RFL and the minimum standard we believe at the moment for the next licence will be between 10,000 and 11,000. We are focused on delivering phase one by 2012 to meet the timeline . For clarification, phase one would include all corporate facilities, better facilities for the fans with regard to food and toilets, the new Tigers bar and it should give us an opportunity to get 10,000 in every week. The best way to phase a stadium will be considered by the architects and achieving atmosphere will be a priority. Once they have developed the plans we will put them on view for the fans to look at and I think they will be happy with the outcome.
To answer the second part of your question, we cannot start to build today. We do not have a detailed design or detailed planning consent. Our focus is on delivering for 2012.

However, Tigers chief executive, Richard Wright, admits the club, which secured outline planning permission nearly three years ago, are still looking for further investment for the project which could cost around £11.5m.
"We have the funds in place – we are confident we can deliver a stadium for minimum standards in terms of the licence – but are looking at further revenue streams to enhance it," he said.'"

Either YES or NO!
