Quote: Kettykat "Dagger , Kay and whitbread are integral parts of our squad and have been outstanding for us when on the field. The good part of all this for me is that we can chop and change when injuries hit and still put in match winning performances.I’m sure Mash would rather have this type of selection headache than the previous 15 types of migraines where he couldn’t beg steal or borrow a win . I sound like a broken record but it’s no coincidence that 2 old stagers have come to the club, rallied the troops and the players have bought into it . Let’s all savour the big boppers last few games in a wakey shirt I say and watch the silky skills of Gale ,who had Williams in his pocket all game'"

It was so refreshing to see a player control the game so well.....against a marquee player and England captain.

Loved seeing Fifita putting Vaughn on his too. Their forwards just seemed to shrink away.

Quote: 1315trinity "Usually we get press reports suggesting that the teams we beat gave their worst performance of the season, or ‘have key players missing’ etc etc- in other words that was the reason they lost- no credit to Wakefield

This time the emphasis seems to be how well Trinity played and justifiably so.
Wire were outplayed in every department. They simply were not allowed to perform by an outstanding Trinity effort.'"

Makes a nice change doesn't it? icon_razz.gif
An outstanding performance from 1-17 and difficult to pick a MOTM...
Great attacking play and also solid defence backed up with speed off the line and turning up for each other.
As you say, they were outplayed in every dept and made to look very ordinary.

Watched it back on Trinity TV...it was even better than I thought at the game. Forwards were dominant, Hood was fizzing, Gale, Lino and Jowitts interplay was superb and the backs were excellent,,,especially Lineham!

Top six 2005 - Trinity.:

Just want to add in that I was impressed with Lino yesterday. I have been one of his biggest critics on his performances this season (which I stand by). That said, yesterday he played off Luke Gale well and linked in well with attacking plays. Well played for him and the pivots.

If him and Gale can keep working on these combinations with Jowitt then I will be one happy fan. So long as we have a Gale or someone who can do what Gale does then Mason will be able to feed off that.

Otherwise, 1-17 need praising for the attitude, application and skill levels. That was one mighty fine performance from the pivots, edges and forwards. Was a pleasure to watch and even when things didn’t go perfect they fought to turn the momentum back in their favour and rolled up the sleeves.

Looking forward to seeing them play Hull.

Work hard and play smart and you’ll get the results.

A mention for Senior. The lad keeps coming back here to help out, without much acclaim, but certainly took his chances well.

That was a great performance and credit to everyone involved on and off the field

The addition of Fifita, Gale and although not playing yesterday Dagger has been immense.
Innes Senior seems to split opinions but the lad is quality IMO. He gives us height to defend and aim a kicking game, has genuine pace, is a finisher and gives his all everytime he pulls the shirt on.

I’m still unsold on the coaching front, 4 wins from 21 games is very poor but 4 wins from the last 6 is very good. Maybe it’s down to coaching or maybe it’s down to the added players like Big Boppa galvanising the team and generating some spirit.

I have to worry about next season when we probably won’t have Fifita and quite a few will be a year older eg Gale, Ashurst, Pitts and Co. If we are to get new owners who are ready and able to spend on the squad then I’d like to think we will have a coach who can make them greater than the sum of their parts, I’m still not sure we have that.

Just watched it on TrinityTV (having missed it yesterday) and have to say what an outstanding performance that was to make the so-called Warrington Super Stars look like a bunch of amateurs. Brilliant 80 minute performance from 1-17 plus the coaching staff...our future is in our own hands now a014.gif a014.gif

For me there is only 1 common denominator in the uptick in form, and that is Dave Fifita. More than happy to be challenged by the rose tints but Dave was the catalyst. Ford leaving didn't do anything, there was no sign of life. I expect that Gale was able to provide some guidance early on, but that sheer energy and belief only eventuated when DF turned up.

The guy is infectious. People around him can't help but be energised - he is even giving Runoff 1:1 time and as a result you can see Proctor rising in stature.

I wonder if there could be a coaching role available?

It's never only one thing.

Dave's arrival is absolutely the spark that started the fire but there are more influences than that.

Gale clearly has an impact on and off the field. You can tell how much he's into it when you watch the latest winning song video compared to the first. He is very much a leader with enthusiasm.

We are running shapes and setting game strategies that are working now. That isn't Dave. He's just giving the enthusiasm to get behind it.
