Quote: Agent XIII "No it is not the supporters who will decide the team but how well the board sells the club and what team they put together. At the moment leisure is not too high a priority to many people so why waste it watching a team lose every week. This is what the board must remember we are only one interest in a very packed leisure market. A lot will support the team regardless but even more will be selective.
I am tired of the "it's the supporters fault and they will get what they deserve" no it is up to the board to produce hope that will encourage ST sales all I see at the moment is the opposite.'"

I'm starting to like you Agent.

It's not the supporters fault that we will end up with a garbage team, neither is it the guys who now have to balance the books to ensure there is a club to support, although they will need to be savvy with their recruitment. The fault lies squarely at Elston & Glovers feet for putting us in this position in the first place.

You don't want to be doing that because you will leave yourself open to quite a bit of negative comments.

No I don't blame them, but as a club without a rich backer they're aiding the demise of the squad by holding out. There is no wriggle room left financially with HMRC breathing down the clubs neck and unpaid bills still arriving the speculate to accumulate policy isn't quite as straightforward as some are making out.

Going by the level of season ticket sales it looks like we have already lost them.

MC said the playing budget that we were already up to was based on season ticket sales of 3K. I guess we will end up comfortably below that even given a run on them at christmas. There will be more departures shortly I would guess. The Kirmond rumours started up again at the weekend and he was also linked to Saints in this weeks league weekly. It going to be a tough couple of months.

It works both ways! The board have said we need 3,000 ST holders to keep that squad. But you need to encourage them to part with their money. The marketing has significantly dropped in fact it's disappeared. Who is on the phone twisting the fans arms to buy a ST, where's our presence in the community. We seem to expect to say 'buy your ST' and everyone will do so.

The club needs to do an awful lot more to merely get 2,000 at this rate.

The carrot was dangled with the disclosure the budget for next year would be the same as this years if 3k bought a season ticket. I think about 400 have been sold since then. That will only mean one thing. There does need to be more of a presence in selling tickets/merchandise thats why closing the shop on a Sunday would be a mistake. As they're paying the players anyway I'd get some of them in town interacting with passes by to try and boost sales. This is reletively cheap marketing tool at time when there is a lack of money to do anything other. The club are relying on volunteers to phone up non renewals, thats why things have dropped off.

I think Aiton is a good player and I wish him look he was a very hard tackler. I thought at times he could be slow I prefer a live wire running from the play the ball that always looks busy. I went to the game last night PNG looked better when there 14 was giving them some go forward from dummy half. I would be happy with Wildie there and someone who is pretty nippy maybe a unknown from the World Cup. Mcshane wouldn't come cheap and I personally don't rate him. Aiton is certainly replaceable. Does anyone want Washbrook?

How has Lee Smith gone for you guys? Always rated him at Leeds and Hull could do with a utility back. On the Aiton situation, with you guys needing the cash, 70k would seem a pretty good deal. McShane going the other way would be a very good deal.

Where has the 70K come from, heard that figure touted about twice today.

It was in the Daily Star a week or two back. So it is probably a mile off.

Smith has dine well for us, nothing outstanding but solid enough wherever needed, although centre seems to be much his best position these days. His goalkicking has been very good though.

Although given Smiths waistline at times it might not be far off!
