Not a bad call but willie as head coach with Henderson and Briers as his assistants.

Talking of assistants, does anyone know where (and his chuffin name has gone, old age!) he has gone to. He played for us at stand-off, tall, dark hair, think he is from Hull and a few years ago he was getting plaudits as an assistant. He, whoever he is, could do a job as 'backs coach'.

Paul Cooke?
If him other than writing a column for the Hull Daily Mail i'm not sure what he's up to these days. He left Donny RU a couple of years ago, not sure if he's coached since.

Certainly worth considering,he was at the club for only a short while but It coincided with a good period of rugby being played ,problem is he left to go back home as I seem to remember his wife had landed a good job back home . As a player he was up there with the best but hasn’t been tested on his coaching prowess ,and don’t know if he is still involved in the game

Pretty sure I've seen him in one of the coach's boxes during NRL coverage, as an assistant. Can't remember which club though.

I agree he would be a good choice however over recent years the one thing that we have excelled at is the academy/youth team. Results have been great and the standard of players coming through is high. If you take him from that role there’s a risk it won’t be sustained. Applegarths time will come. I’d certai

| Willie Peters mentioned on Sky as an option by Brian Carney. Currently an assistant coach at Newcastle Knights.

| Whoever gets the top job I really hope they crack the whip and get this lot ship shape and battle hardened so we can see the benefits next season . For far too long now we have been an easy touch both on and off the field with Chester’s downfall being aided and abetted by the very people he got too pally with and who now should hang their heads . If only half the rumours are true about the on/off field antic of some of the players are to be believed then I think we certainly need a coach who can install discipline and take no bull .It’s ok people saying Chris was a nice guy but in the end that mr nice guy was sold down the river .

It's such a delicate balance though.
We are not an attractive club for players. They won't win anything. They'll play and train in poor facilities. May well be relegation stresses, making it hard for the players to plan in the long-term for their finances. If we make it a tough gig too, players will want to leave. Crack the whip at Wigan, fine, because the players know it might take them to a Grand Final. Crack the whip at Wakey and it might just take you three places higher up the table.
It's that balance between off-field happiness and on-field performance. Very tricky. Danny Ward managed it at London, but then again it became it bit of an adventure for them so easier to pull it off for one year.
