Not a fact, but do you have factual answers to any of the above questions yourself?
Has he been offered money for the club and if so was it less than he wanted, again I don't know, do you??'"

You seem to be making a lot of assumptions about a man you have never met and by your own admission do not even know, it seems to me matey that you are starting a debate on hearsay.

incorrect! I am passing comment on the abilitys or inabilitys on the people charged (by themselves) with running the club, I have stated I do not know ted, therefore it is not a personal attack on him or his character, you may take it as you will.
Taking personalities and people out of the equation, do you think our club is being run proffesionally? I don't! And therefore I am entitled to air my views as I see fit on this forum, I do not beg your support nor do I think that anyone is really bothered of mine, however the purpose of this forum is for us to debate what is irking us at whatever time we feel the need to vent it!

I'm not suggesting that you don't know your onn line of work - you are clearly intelligent and articulate - I am suggesting that that most people do not work in the goldfish bowl that is a professional sports club, which will have it's own challenges - of which most of us know little. But, rather than knock them for stuff which may, or may not, be within the clubs control.

FWIW I think we should congratulate the club on not giving us a Kooga shirt (they're awful this year), and for giving us THE best shirts in SL in 2010. Now that's a result! icon_biggrin.gif

I agree wholeheartedly, they should be very proud of a) doing something a bit different in regards to using this supplier, and of course a local supplier, and b) bringing out two shirts I genuinely want, santas gonna have to rummage arround a bit harder this year!!!!
As for criticism, it comes with the territory, we will all never agree, that's what makes sport so appealing to so many, weather it's a disputed goal, a forward pass or, poor refereeing or in this case clubs not being run in the way, acceptable by a group or individual.
My closing point on this one, is, just because ted was there when we needed him once, it does not mean that he must always be the right man, times change, circumstances change. What must remain is Wakefield trinity, and if that future is better secured by people stepping aside then that is what is in the best interest of our club, and that is my view.
I don't have the answers, but I know that if you head too far down a blind alley, it can be very difficult to get out.
Right I'm off to right my letter to santa icon_lol.gif

Reasonable position! icon_wink.gif

As for Ted - he is getting on a bit (when he reads this I'm in bother) and won't be here forever - but he does, imo, have the ability to make the stadium happen - and I don't think there's a man on the planet who could have done more in the past 12 months to accelerate us from a standing, or retreating start, to where we are now. On that basis he is the man for now and for the near future, but sooner or later we will require new leadership - wherever that comes from.

Ted himself will tell you that he is a steward of the club and that the club belongs to the City of Wakefield (not the council though!) icon_biggrin.gif

Jst to add my two penneth worth here.

At times I've criticised Ted/the board and haven't always agreed with their policies and actions. One thing I do know however, is how much the club means to Ted. I remember interviewing him as a media student about 15 years ago and he was very forthcoming and outright with the questions I fired at him, he told me about the vision he had for the club , how much he wanted a new stadium and how he wanted to wake the sleeping giant that is wakefield trinity. Now I know its not definite yet and its certainly taken its time coming but his dream may just be coming true, the only way this has been possible is through Ted ploughing his money in to the club. I know he has saved our bacon many times in the past with his own donations. If we do get the go ahead surely Ted must be given the chance to play his part in the growth of our club.

Lets judge him then, if we just stay stable and don't push on then yes maybe its time for a change but IMO he deserves the chance to take us forward in new, modern surroundings.

Totally agree with that. It will be his legacy to the club, in many respects the most significant one since the club was founded. What we make of it is our problem, but if he achieves this aim, then he deserves our utmost gratitude.

The sniping, IMO, is ill-founded. It's born out of frustration, and I can understand that as much as any fan, but it's pointing the finger in the wrong direction. The proof of the pudding will be when Ted Richardson eventually steps aside, I suppose. My own view is that these prospective investors who have allegedly been turned away were probably more interested in the commercial value of Belle View and any other assets that could be stripped on the cheap than the club - but as I say, that's just my own view.

We all owe Ted a hell of a lot, even if we bag him all the time. What we can't ever do is forget without him we certainly wouldn't be in Super League and we probably wouldn't exist (as a pro club at least).

WHEN it's time for Ted to leave I don't think he will take the first offer that comes in, he loves the club too much for that, when he goes he will sell to the right person/persons for the long term security of the club.

And I for one think he deserves a send off like no other WT legend if he fulfils his "legacy to the city".

Let me get this right then, you are accusing Ted Richardson and his cronies' (your word not mine) of basically being incompetant, neglectful and mis managing the club, and in the next breath admitting that you would not have a clue how to run the club yourself classic!. Just a thought if thats the case then how do you know that Ted and his cronies are making a pig's ear of it. you also throw into your posts' unfounded rumours what have no substance to them at all about his wheeling and dealings in the club all very convenient for your arguement but as you say they are only rumours. All this bitching just because the club's policy on shirt marketing did not meet with your approval, I am sorry if my opinion does not match yours but hey ho thats opinions for you, its plain to see that you are finding the subject irksome but personally I think you have gone way over the top with your criticism of the people involved hth.

yes I am, not just on one issue, based on years of watching this kind of thing time after time, read through the pages of threads on here,a) it's not just me that's had enough, b) you may see for your self that we are nit run in a very proffesional way, to me and a lot of other people.
You don't have to have flown a jumbo jet, to know that when the pilot flys it into the side of a mountain he's cocked up somewhat.
The annoying thing to me about it all, is that for the first time in a while, we have something to shout about on the field, the off field side of things are still fairly calamatous.
Therefore if the people responsible for that cannot raise there game.......
It's simple economics, clubs like us have to work twice as hard to earn our corn as say, Leeds saints and Wigan, we can't afford to miss a trick as this puts us further behind, it's a bit like swimming in treacle!!(please don't turn this into a physics class!!!!!)
