Quote: Fishermanscap "The RFU has just staged a brilliant WC, we have just concluded a squalid tour of NZ. Where are there any similarities between the two games, it’s all fantasy. I may be wrong but I fail to see a single part of RL that would be attractive to an investor who’s primary role is making money, I just don’t.
One thing I’m even more certain of is if that did happen the first casualties would be clubs like us.
The only way it makes sense is if they cherry pick the top SL clubs and create a hybrid game with the top Union clubs. It makes total sense then business wise but not for clubs like us not even if we get the finest new stand ever built.
If it happens it will be an utterly one sided deal that will eventually see the end of RL imho.'"
I don't agree with your hybrid game part but I agree with the rest.
I honestly can't see an investor identifying profit potential without expansion.
We need to prepare for this so that we are seen as a big city sleeping giant, not a low income village team based in a city. How? That's the tough question. Ground would be a start.
