Quote: Schunter "I disagree - I thought he was having a very good game and not constantly whistling, my issue is he then started to give them restarts and not us when they wasn't any difference really or barely anyway. He should have carried on as he was - not giving them because neither team were taking the p*** at the ruck. So much better when they don't get infatuated with the play the ball and have a massive impact on the game.'"

But you have agreed with me, that’s what I said same offence different outcome icon_thumb.gif

Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "I am sorry but I thought we were tremendous today and but for a stronger referee we could have won. We have no restarts to Leeds 4 and the pass was not forward despite what McDermot thought. I cannot fault any of the players today and the defence improved throughout the game.'"

Really, well your entitled to your opinion but for me it was a fairly typical performance against an understrength Leeds. The official wasn't great (he never is) but ask yourself how many times we actually come out on the right side of the penalty count in the course of a season. It's been happening for ages and it can't be a coincidence. I maintain that we still lack professionalism and leadership. It appeared that we had no idea that the ball steal rule had changed, or that Brad Dwyer will go from acting half close to the line or that Mikalauskas is a really petty referee. Last tackle options near the opposition line were poor as ever, the full back offers very little as a handling or running threat and Miller continues to look like a headless chicken.

Interesting .. I thought Lino did ok considering it was his first game and he may have been carrying a knock.
Can't really fault Miller's effort but he makes glaring errors and poor decisions on a far too regular basis. For a halfback some of his passing and kicking is really second rate. Thought Fifita and Westerman went pretty well.

Plenty of positives, Lino and Miller given time will only improve but after only 1 game we moved the ball better than the whole of last year. A bit more composure and we’d have taken the 2 points.

I thought the forwards were poor overall, lack of metres in the middle. I also expect a lot more from Fifita as big money name, run onto the ball for god sake. Collects the ball from a standing start more often than not.

D also needs improving, we need to learn how to hold the player up and get 3 men in the tackle. We seem to just roll off and let them get to their feet. I know it’s fine margins but Leeds seemed to do this well.

Not sure on the new rule, Johnstone had one hand on the floor ready to move his arm around and play the ball when it was stripped which resulted a Leeds try.

Overall happy and on to Wigan who definitely look beatable

After his recent injuries, for Tom to have retained his pace is something special.

Give it a rest with the rose tinted stuff you’re making yourself look more ridiculous than normal. Just because people view it more positively it doesn’t make them rise tinted grow up.

For the record for a first run out I was reasonably happy but a loss is never what anyone wants, except perhaps you icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Funny how you’ve not bothered with an opinion until we lost.

Quote: phe13 "Agree that we struggled to get out of our own half (at times out of our own 20), but hopefully Battye will help in that respect. Another area I feel that we were weak again was in the opposition 20, not creative enough.'"

Just two of the problems that have bugged us for 20 years or more. I wish I knew the answer.

Didn’t watch it but sounds like a typical Trin performance. Not sure what I expected but a bit disappointed.
