| Feeding his ego. Hasn't done Trinity any favours considering he used to be our Chairman.

| Is stadium fatigue takin hold now? If it wasn’t for the threat to our long term future I would have stopped caring long ago.
No straight answers all lies. I just don’t understand what’s started this conspiracy against us?

| Tweet from Wakefield council today, possibly as a result of some questions wrt Rodders;
" Cllr Box confirms council is continuing to work with @WTrinityRL to progress proposals for community stadium- as soon as we can provide further info we will".
I can hear the can getting kicked further along the road.

| So Councillor Box details will be revealed as soon as you are able to.
Care to enlighten us with a timescale?

| y'know what, I think Cas are in the same hole we are.
Till the big build gets underway, "plans" are still just a can kicking exercise.
I'm fearing for them almost as much as us these days tbh.

| Cas are just a little further down the tracks than us, on their latest go round the WMDC imaginary rugby league ground roller coaster...

| Not wanting to get in to a "wakey v cas stadium debate" Cas are no closer to a build than us and are probably further away from a solution, as they are on plan B now and weren't on plan x, there has been nothing built on the site of the five towns park site yet and only an access road planned for the next twelve months, there is no investment in the hedge fund being set up for the funding stream and there I see major doubt on the two or three retailers that have already committed to the site, there is around two years of excavation to extract coal and soil from the site so without a doubt they are no closer to a new stadium than us.
I see the only credible solution for both clubs is to put the efforts in to a shared ground somewhere close to normanton with both clubs putting joint effort to get it done and sharing income streams for non matchday activity.

| The major advantage Cas have over Trinity is they have a person in a position of influence who will be doing their damndest to make sure the stadium happens. Quite the contrary to Trinity.

Whilst that may be the case, and I'm very cautious to nail my flag to the last of Peter Box, there's only so much "influence" he can have at this point.
I think he's done all he can. Cas have a site and a developer nailed down..... Now it's just a case of feasibility and finance.... Which PB doesn't have a great deal of power over. And crucially these are the two things that will, in my opinion through experience, derail the entire project.
Today we've just had some more shiny drawings of our "new stadium" but I'm very much in the majority - I'll believe it when I'm sat in it.
The only advantage castleford have, if any, is that we have no landlord.... Small mercies. As soon as we get told our ground isn't up to SL minimum criteria (which can't be a million miles away) we're in exactly the same boat.
Cas, Wakefield or both.... We can't allow the club/s to slip away. Especially considering in house, both are in the strongest positions they've been in for a hell of a long time.

That's a fair summary - and now that WMDC have done their bit, you'll be hostages to the financial jiggery pokery of developers, financiers, retailers and all the other interested parties; which as we've amply demonstrated, is like dropping a goldfish in a pool of sharks.
It's a harsh reality that without significant Council support in cold hard cash terms, getting a stadium out of the ground, in the current climate, is nigh on impossible; and with the retail sector crashing and burning around our ears, any development linked to a retail park has become even more delicate.
Really difficult situation for both clubs - and infuriating to hear uninformed pillocks say "just get it built!" As if many people involved haven't sweated blood to do just that for 10+ years.

I don't doubt what you say, but you can be sure he will be using whatever leverage he has on developers who want to build in the WMDC to ensure this stadium gets built. Can we say that for Trinity? Personally I don't think so. There is no SCAG, there has been no press interest in the ongoings in FTP, there has been no need for the council to come out and justify there position, things are rolling along in the background.
