| Quote: Slugger McBatt "Wakey don't have to suspend Moore at all. He's not convicted of anything and they could quite happily play him up until his trial date.
If he is convicted, the club can decide whether to dismiss him or not. They could just as easily stand by him, on the basis that it had nothing to do with rugby.
Or they could dismiss him on the grounds it brought the club into disrepute, or because there could be an outcome that prevented him from travelling to training.
In essence, they can do what they want before the trial and after the trial, and they will do whatever suits. There have been players who've transgressed and been kept on by their clubs because they are valued, and there have been players moved on for similar transgressions.
What might be uppermost in the club's mind is that they want a settled team rotation and a known playing budget. To suggest the club has to do any particular thing is nonsense.'"
A much more succinct way of describing it than I could manage; maybe I derailed the discussion by using an example from my own industry?
The point remains - Scott Moore is not guilty of anything as of this moment and the club can do whatever they think best; without sharing all the details with supporters.
I still however, have absolutely no idea what Atomic is banging on about.

You know the ins and outs a lot more than we do, but if the newspaper reports are true and Moore is found guilty on all charges I really can't imagine anything less than a bit of a holiday all paid for by Her majesty.

| It all seems over the top for what initially was a speeding issue.
Depends how dangerous the driving was, and of course whether he was drunk etc, whether the police man was injured by accident or whether there was a conscious effort or even someone else involved. There are so many ways the report could be read it's easy to assume he'll be in serious trouble.
You never know, Moore could be suing them for excessive force with the tazer.
None of us know the details, may never know unless he is actually convicted and the report is published

| As for the team
1. Jowett
2. Johnstone
3. Arundal
4. Gibson
5. BJB
6. Miller
7. Williams
8. Huby
9. Finn
10. England
11. Kirmond
12. Ashurst
13. Arona
14. Wood
15. Fifita
16. Allgood
17. Sio
If Tupou is still here he still needs to prove his form and fitness for me, though clearly so does Kirmond so both fighting for that second row spot, with Molloy and Crowther able additions.
The backs have a few alternatives with Bill Tupou, Reece Lyne and MCB. Not sure how MCB will turn out so he obviously needs to prove his skills in preseason.
I'd like to see Keegan Hurst staking a claim too but all the others are proven at this level so have the start for me.

| I would have thought that if Moore had failed a breathalyser test he would have been banned from driving within days irrespective of any other offense.Surely they wouldn't allow him to continue driving for another 6 months pending trial. So hopefully the charges will not be as severe as first thought and he can continue his career !We can but hope.

It doesn't work like that...as he is allegedly facing several charges, all of the offences will be dealt with together, and as I said in my previous post, if it does end up going to Crown Court, it could be up to 12 months before the case is heard (if he pleads not guilty).

Like I said to Vasty, there's more chance of me banging the ball out to Miller from DH than Scott Moore next season

Do you know this for sure, or are you just speculating like others on here.
It would appear from your silly thumbs up you'll be quite happy to see him go

Don't think it's a case of him happy to see him go, just because he gives the thumbs up.
The thumbs up could relate to his statement about himself?
For one, I would say BLM is probably more in the know than most on here.

I've been reading the thread since it began. So again what have you brought to the table that has anything to do with how the Club deals with Moore.

If it wasn't for the Policeman breaking his wrist, which as a guess happened when they were struggling to cuff him. He would have got away with fines and maybe some Community service. With a Cop getting injured it sort of puts into a whole new category of them coming down on you. Saying that if that's the case and they're looking at sending him down, they'll probably end up at Crown Court and it will take a fair while before that happens , when he hasn't even had a date set for Magistrates yet.

And this comment sums it all up for me. if, and i say if, he walks out of court a free man and he is able to continue his profession as a top class Rugby League player i would keep him at Wakey. make him captain of the team, he is at an age now where he has to make a decision on where he wants to be in life. its surprising what a bit of responsibility can do to a person and how he conducts himself in the future. the guy is a top class player and i think with the current squad/signings we have the team will benefit with him been a part of it.
