Infact I think the the back room as a lot to answer for. Jarrod Sammut has had the chance to prove himself and has failed, I totally agree with Websters decision not to pick him, he simply is not interested and looks like he does not want to be here. Cant make my mind up what is wrong, We know all about the injury crisis but that does not excuse the players that take the field looking like a team of amateurs!!'"
Not sure why you single out Sammut, he's not been any worse than plenty of others. He also needs a run in the halves and not at fullback in place of the waste of a shirt Miller.

| Just my opinion…..his body language /interest /effort just seems non existent to me and thats saying something after a defeat like today. The fact the coach has not picked him previously made me think he would put the extra effort in, also thought young Miller put some good tackles in today.

| One of the worst games I have watched, up there with the game at cas when they got 80 by us and the game down in London. I wouldn't say all the players didn't seem bothered but the team spirit we have relied upon to get us through the tough times doesn't appear to be there now. It's really tough to watch and I'm of the camp that maybe we have used our 9 lives. Webster may think that it's only the last few games that count but at this rate they will be down to their last few supporters. I didn't expect a win today but expected better than the garbage I watched. Motivation and belief is needed but can't see where it wil come from

He didn't say they were not going to try and play well.
Clearly the 80-0 score line is demoralizing for both supporters and players but personally I'd stick it out a bit longer.'"
Having listened to the press conference its bad copy, he actually says as a club we 'probably now make the decision' to concentrate getting the players fit for the middle 8. Sorry but to come out with that with 13 rounds to play just sends out the wrong message. It will cost the club money when fans and sponsors say no thanks and even if we did stay up, which isn't a given, what happens next year when our revenues are down? An even weaker squad thats what and more embarrassment. Not too many are going to buy into that i'm afraid. Given he mentioned something similar after the Leeds game he must have the support of his boss on this. A major own goal by Webster and Carter.

Fair comment. The last few games will not be pushovers and we will be playing teams with much more enthusiasm, commitment and probably more quality than ours!

What player, sponsor or any new fan would want to join a club with such a lack of ambition; I certainly wouldn't.'"
It's not my strategy - I don't like the situation any more than you do I imagine. But, be realistic.
It's not lack of ambition it's pragmatism. We are probably the poorest, financially, club in SL by a long way. We have a small squad of players, mainly who are not wanted by other SL clubs - if they were any good, they wouldn't be playing for us. BUT, it's better to be in SL than out of it. If Webster can marshal resources to keep us in SL that's surely a good thing. I don't know who'll come along next season and put money in to the club and neither do you but, until said sugar daddy comes along, I'd rather be in SL than the Champs. In the meantime it seems to be a case of losing some battles in order to win the war. What else do you suggest?

Agree Sammut hasn't been blameless this last couple of weeks but it was Millers pass picked off for the interception today and he also went awol for a couple of their tries, although wasn't alone there. Our right hand defence was like a revolving door. I just think the Miller thing hasn't worked and its time to try something else with Sammit been the obvious choice. If he doesn't take it then, so be it.
As for poor body language this seems to be an epidemic within the team. The spirit seems to have disintigrated and this is a major worry as now is the time that agents are in full swing in talks with clubs. Its one more reason for a player out of contract like McShane or Smith to think sod it and move on.

Fair assessment of our present situation.
Just watched Cas's forwards bully HKR.
Lynch, Millington and Massey laid the platform for Wheeldon, Jewitt and Boyle to keep the pressure on.
This is Websters problem, we have lost our equivalent of the first three and are expecting Simon, D.Smith and Scruton to play longer minutes than was planned for them.
If Cas had Wheeldon, Jewitt and Boyle in their starting 13, they would struggle but not obviously as bad as us at the moment!

| If you tell a team (and it's common knowledge) that it doesn't matter what the result is until the split then lack of effort is what you will get. You can't expect a team to ignore this and bust a gut when the coach says they don't have to.
For what it's worth I'm not sure this is the reason but God am I getting fed up of the hammerings.

I'd have suggested keeping it out of the public domain.

| I can accept we're on a bad run, but there's only so much you can put down to injuries, lack of quality/depth. I didn't go today thankfully, but 80 nil - there's something's seriously wrong.

| Why would sammutt be happy? he signed as a half back and as done quite well when played there but gets played full back even though he clearly isn't one, yet toss like miller gets played half back every week.
