| Quote: The Devil's Advocate "Our first victory over Warrington for six years!
I was definitely in the “No chance of the top eight” camp, and to be honest I still think it’s too little too late, however, so much has changed over the last few weeks even I (the biggest pessimist in Christendom) can’t rule it out.
It doesn’t seem two minutes since we capitulated to Bradford, yet here we are safe & sound, with even a sniff at the play-offs.
I’m so grateful that Agar decided that he was better than the club, because it he’d still been here we’d have been doomed.
My wife is ambivalent towards my “first love” but whenever I tell her the end is nigh she just smiles & says they’ll scrape through, they always do.
Unfortunately, when I ask if I’ll ever see them win a major trophy, the answer is always a big fat no

| Personally I think that the perception of the club has to change to one capable of doing something, rather than one going from one crisis to another; in order for the wider public of Wakefield to buy in.
Despite this being the only pro sports club in the city, to many it's seen as an embarrassment.
This won't happen overnight but a steady period of sustainable improvement followed by the delivery of NM or a redeveloped BV is all that is required.
Look at the season we've had, and we are only two points off the play offs ffs!!

Cas have been as much of a basket case as us over the last 10 years.
This year they have a good chance of winning the challenge cup and an outside chance of a GF appearance.
Things can change quickly.

| Grand Final is a long way off but I don't see why we can't target Challenge Cup if we get our act together.
We can clearly do it in short stints. Just need to win the right games.
If timing had been different for the CC rounds we could have had a run like this
Leeds (H) Win 16-14
Hull (A) Win 16-23
Widnes (A) Win 18-24
Semi Final Wigan Win 36-28
Final Warrington Win 40-26
As long as we didn't get Bradford in any round we'd be fine.

Our neighbours from over the hill are likely to be contesting the Challenge Cup Final in a few weeks time, so there is certainly hope for us (not this season though )

| If we could get to the CC final it would be massive for the club. Sure there would be a lot of bandwaggon jumpers but the club needs a lot of bandwaggon jumpers!

If so, amazing Sportsmanship and I have my faith in our sport and sport in general being turned in the direction of restoration. GREAT performance today. Warrington is probably one of the hardest places to go and win so we should appreciate what a result like that means. And so many good comments from Wires fans. I love RL for the most part!'"
Remember he has one of our own there as his assistant who will have put in a good word for us . he will know all about our struggles and what the club means to the folk of Wakey...thanks Tony & WP

just for once why can't the Wakefield public believe in the team

If you think one good month of results is going to right all the previous wrongs of the last god knows how many years of failings, false dawns and let downs then i'm afraid you're deluding yourself. The public of Wakefield aren't just going to suddenly part with over 200 quid to go stand in a dump of a stadium next season. Even after more years than can be remembered some loyal long standing, season ticketing holding, shirt buying etc fans have had enough and have pretty much lost interest. I know because i'm one of them and i know i'm not the only one.

You are absolutely right about the many, many years of failings and most of the cr@p has been down to poor financial management.
However, unless we can suddenly manage to persuade 10,000 fans to turn up each week, a club the size of Wakefield will always be a selling club.
The stadium issue has been a total farce since the failed Thornes Park thing and IF there was a tangible move forward on this, people may start to believe that we are moving forward and not just trying to avoid the next crisis.
What would it take to make you but a S/T for next season ?

| I'm returning to the season ticket fold next year. I've seen enough from Mr Carter, Mrs Hetherington & James Webster to shell out for next year. However as mentioned previously it would really give the club a lift if it receives some positive news re the redevelopment of Belle Vue in the coming months. It would also help if the team could start next season in the sort of form it finishes this one. The last time we had a successful end to the season all the momentum was lost due to an indifferent start to the next one!
