The only question is 'why experiment?'.
Three good performance's.
One player injured from last week.
One back to replace injured player.
Job done. It's not rocket science but RA is making it look like it is.

No one was injured last week? Poor selection on this one. Washbrook may tackle but at this level you're useless if thats all you can do. He can't pass, run good lines or even
break a tackle. No wonder when he doesn't play we score more.

Quote: upthecats "I agree on both counts mate!

He tried something new....it backfired.....Agar is in the unfortunate position that had it worked and we had won the game people would still have been waiting for the next defeat....poor performance to sharpen their knives....he's conceded he made an error.....it's up to him to learn from a mistake and put it right.....

The effort of the players.....I hope we can just put down as a bad day at the office....which will happen in games.....look at Catalans against us.......it's how we react in the next 3 or 4 games that will tell us more....

Another point to note.....

Bazzo rightfully asked the question somewhere......'who is there to bring in to replace Agar?

I honestly dont think there is anyone out there at present who would do any better with what we have got......we are still a relatively new side.....for people to judge on his full stay is unfair, as he's had 2 sides ripped apart and had to start again....the last time it happened we did superbly well to get in the play-offs....

The suggested names I've seen so far I think are laughable.....just my opinion though....'"

I think it's already been said but, in the games where (on paper) we have a chance of winning, we should not be experimenting.

Our halves are trying to get to know each other and the rest of the team are getting used to their style of play as well, so why does our coach meddle with that partnership ?

Also, I "joked" about Washbrook being an automatic choice but, it does appear that he is the first name on Agars team sheet when he is fit d040.gif

Btw, is Mathers injured or on his way elsewhere because, even though he gets slated regularly, he is twice the FB that Sykes is capable of being.

Getting hammered by a top 4 team is bad enough but, we should be competing with ALL the teams in the lower half of the division.

Keinhorst off after 20-25 mins last week.
Left us to play with 3 subs for about 55 mins.
Another master stroke.

Keinhorst is more injury prone than Collis. Can't see him coming back into contention for the next few weeks.

We seem thin on the ground with injuries now ...bet Agar is regretting letting Walshaw, Wildie and Trout go out on a months loan without recall. icon_biggrin.gifOH:

I find some of the comments quite amazing. We lost a game get over it, we will lose others. I now read that you believe Agar selected Keinhorst because he knew he would only last 20mins leaving us a player short. I begin to wonder if we do have the most negative supporters of any team or just a higher percentage who post on the forum.

I guess our next coach should be Mystic Meg so that we will be in a position to predict what's going to happen so that we can pick the squad accordingly.

It's not about being negative, it's about picking the right players.
If you think a player with a heavily bandaged thigh, coming back from injury, with no games to test the thigh, is a better bet than a fully fit player, then you are no better than RA.

I would rather take my chances with a coach cutting his teeth than one who hasn't got any. We are hopeless. How many games have been error strewn fiascos under Agar? Dozens. I wouild say the majority in fact. Morrison could not do worse. Geoff Boycott's fabled grandma couldn't

To be fair, I have ben on his back a lot but he did in fact show some bottle and get stuck in. He actually stood out like a sore thumb with his effort, so I'll give him a chance. If he carries on like that....IF. Defensively he has been poor for the majority of his games but he played well at HKR

"We lost a game get over it". If only that was just it. Error strewn performances, dumb Rugby, poor interchanges, poor selections, favourite players who are shoe ins whilst others who seem better get no chance, on Sunday a gutless effort by some players who looked unmotivated. This is not about one match. I am negative yes. I am furious after what I saw v HKR and Bradford. First half v Salford little better. Fell apart v St Helens..It is all familiar and follows a depressing pattern. We have put a decnt full 80 minutes in about 5 times whilst he has been in charge. But lets give him 3 years and see what he can do icon_frustrated.gif

In an ideal world we would go into every game missing no tackles....making no errors....giving no penalties away....while playing free flowing rugby and scoring tries at will.....

Unfortunately....back in the real World (at present) we are a bottom 4 side.....which ultimately means we have our fair share of players who would get nowhere near the first team of the majority of other Super League clubs.....which then obviously means they will make more mistakes....miss more tackles.....drop more balls....give more penalties away......especially so when under pressure.....if we could afford.....and had one of the best starting 17's in Super League and the same performances were happening then I would definitely be asking the questions.....

This season though.....whether you are for or against Agar....he is here for the duration so we need to back him and the players to the hilt......we're still a new side who have shown we have the ability to a) win matches.....and b) play well enough to win more......there will be more sound beatings I'm sure....when your squad is inferior to roughly 75% of other squads (at this present time) then it's very likely it will happen again.....I dont think there is any coach out there who would make a massive difference to where we are at present.....

We have to do the best with what we've got......it is NOT purely and simply down to the coach.....have Ben Cockayne & Justin Poore all of a sudden become far better players because they aren't being coached by Richard Agar anymore? No, of course they haven't.....Ben will still be playing similar to when he was with us and Poore is still making the errors and giving the penalties away that he was when with us....

Lets hope the players can respond to the dross they served up yesterday and in the coming weeks show they are up to fighting to wear the shirt for the club we all love....

It get's more and more difficult to back your coach when he insists in experimenting when there is nothing wrong in the first place.
Needs to prioritise his games better.

first time poster . fan since 1967. I have seen a lot of ups and downs in my time as a wakey fan and you think you would get used to it. however , after travelling to hull yesterday and witnessing the utter shambles played out in front of my disbelieving eyes I felt I had to put pen to paper ,so to speak.
to the fans who cheered when they heard mathers wasn`t playing . well you got what you deserved . not only is he the best fullback at the club , he is the best we can afford . get off his back and stop hoping he cocks up just so you can bag him . saddos.
the best run we have had with agar as a coach was pure accident . he had to play a proper hooker due to aitons injury , a player who couldn`t get a game all season and then flogs him- andy ellis.
he has a blind spot with certain players , washbrook being the worst. a player that can`t pass , run or catch . please don`t point to his tackling stats as they are gained by being 2nd/3rd man in tackle.
he loans out players like wildie and walshaw - we could do with them now , couldn`t we?
he changes a team playing quite well as an experiment in a winnable game - for gods sake superleague must be our priority . if you want to experiment agar you should have waited for the cup - I don`t care if leeds put 80 past us next week,we ain`t gonna win the challenge cup.
as for the players lack of effort yesterday - if I was a player I`d be bloody confused about his team selection and game plan- if he has one.
all of the above seriously calls into question his judgement of players , team selection and tactical nouse.
if we could afford to get rid we should - but I know we can`t , so it`s fingers crossed and hope for the best.
you only have to look at cas to see how a structured , well coached team can perform with the right guy in charge . playing for each other and out performing their individual ability.
