Still hope my team wins , Sorry !'"
I don't quite think you are getting the point!
Yes winning matters everybody tries to win but development is far more important.at the end of the day trophy s are lovely and they give you great memory's but that's all.
Onething you would do well to learn is not all the best players play for the best team.
Good luck to all taking part this weekend in the Yorkshire challenge cup!!

| Quote: Musky "One of the main problems we are having at the moment is getting enough game time into the players, we have a full squad and so far have had around 15-16 available to play each week, and we have played against teams with 8 players, 4 players and 8 players. I notice players improving through the game the more minutes they play so having to rotate the squad and basically having a different team playing the 2nd half compared to the first half is making it much harder for us - whereas teams with lesser numbers have the advantage of getting a full game into all of their players every week, and they do seem to learn much, much more from the games compared to training.
Setting 2 teams up is a bit of a no-no given the extra coaches, TLM's managers etc required.
Does anybody else involved with kids of this age notice a drop off during the summer months for various reasons?'"
That's a perennial problem I think and you're certainly not the only club to experience it; we've got 23 players registered in our U14's team which gives the coach a selection nightmare, especially when those players are at various different points of the spectrum in terms of ability.
I'm not sure what the answer is - two teams seems obvious, but that has many of its own potential problems, aside from the obvious ones you've pointed out.
Who would run a junior rugby club??

| To be fair rob you know that I dont for 1 moment think that way.
I know the players you have , east leeds have etc .
I know that east hull are far far from a 1 man team . Stanley division 2 but quality players.
Its just that once again 1 particular poster takes a comment and twists it.
I think you should do well in the cup but reading into those I wouldn't be sure. icon_wink.gif

Development is the key no doubt and enjoying the ride!

Can not find a fault with that at all.
Its pleasing to see aswell coaching staff taking this view.
Some sports like scoccer have this terrible way of trying to try out kids and refusing to coach to improve just concentrating on those who shine.
I really do hope that my views have not been misinterpreted because I've always been fully behind enjoyment before tin pots.

| Thanks to Crig for the warm welcome this morning.
We were winning at half time and scored over 20 points (something I understand no team has achieved in a long long time). The game got away at the back end of the second half but we never took a backward step and had we been a bit smarter after half time, who knows... Only 8 points in it with 10 to go and finished 44-24.
So proud of our boys, not only did we compete we played some outstanding expansive rugby. Though that being said there's more to come from us. Nice also to hear some positive praise especially from the Crig parents.

| To be fair seth the score line flattens us and all down the way how you came and just played rugby with no intention of trying to disrupt our game you were terrific in you own right.
It was a most enjoyable cup game where it was up for grabs until late late on maybe the score won't reflect that.
Good look for rest of season and with any luck promotion might be on the cards.
Also nice to play a close game and fans not blame the ref , your fans and parents whom I spoke to where knowledgeble and a credit.

| That was Wigan and that was a neutral venue.
The last time 20 was scored past this crigglestone team at crigg was when lock lane won .
IIRC It was 20-4 and the last time crigglestone lost at crigg.
Under 11s 2 years ago.
I think nothing should be took away from the oulton lads. =)

| The panthers 13s made hard work of newsome coming from behind to win 10-18.all the credit to newsome who will feel they were the better side for long periods, the panthers will know they have to be far smarter to go any further in the competion.
Other scores saw hunslet warriors beat lock lane 28-22 and feb lions go down 0-56 to shaw cross.

| Great win for the warriors and sharks just seem to improve with every game
Im sure newsome will kickstart now and take a lot of confidence from taking you so far. Sounds like another good cup tie.
Goes to show that the lads in lower division 2 etc are not
in anyway distant from the so called pretty boys of div 1
Lock Lane a litte bit of a shock ad last years runners up but Hunslet owe them from last year I think.
All good , any one of 6-7 clubs in the running for this.
