Wilde and John need to make their mark if the chance arrives - they should both be really by now and both are yet to really spark.
Goulding, maybe a bit early but fingers crossed,
Wood, hope he comes back and carries on as before.
If any of the above start to fire then we have those extra pivot players so loved by JK to get us moving.
If only we had a Sam Obst.'"
What about 2014? Rob Burrow is OOC at the end of this season,he had his testimonial last year .Now Danny mags has just signed up till end of 2015,these two usually signup together.Maybe Rob is going for a last beg deal before he finishes, like Gaz Ellis did

| Quote: Criggcat "For me Forwards are key .......
Our success back end of the season was largely attributed within the fan and media spaces to the brilliance of Tim Smith.. however the platform was absolutley set by our pack - who gave the halves the platform.
If we win the collision, tackle and "go forward" we have plenty of ability in the squad to score points. Looking at our props and back row options, strength we have an aggressive mobile and quick pack...
law of averages states - If we can reduce the points against column and keep the points for where it was last year - we'll definatley make the 8'"
The law of averages is a lay term used to express a belief that outcomes of a random event will "even out" within a small sample.
As invoked in everyday life, the "law" usually reflects bad statistics or wishful thinking rather than any mathematical principle. While there is a real theorem that a random variable will reflect its underlying probability over a very large sample, the law of averages typically assumes that unnatural short-term "balance" must occur!
So basically it is a myth and cannot be relied upon. This may be a slight (massive) bias on my part but if Rovers finish below Wakefield, I'll be embarrassed.

Admittedly, the end to last season was absolutely unacceptable, on the other hand, Wakefield's end to last season was freakish and I'd stick my neck out and say it won't happen again. Yes I am being biased and i think fans of all clubs over estimate their own respective chances. We shall see how it all pans out over the next few months and all the best to yourselves! At least you still have a club to support which is the main thing!

I'm with you on that, we rolled with our good luck.
But we put ourselves in with a shout due to some very decent late season form, maybe we won't have to leave it so late this year.
Who knows how this coming season will pan out.

Ignoring the last paragraph, that's the post of the week; I love the smell of pedantry in the morning!

The end to this season may not be as good as last season, but based on the fact that the team had never played together last season but have now had a good season together then the 1st half should not be as bad as last season so in theory we should pick up points in the 1st half of the season that we may lose in the second half.
On the basis that we had a completely new team last season and looking at the performances that we had in the 2nd half of the season against some pretty good teams I will hazard a guess that however they feel they might have strengthened, none of the teams that finished below us last season will improve enough to finish above us this season, and I would include Bradford in that before anyone says that we only finished above them because of a points deduction.

Embarrassed to finish below Wakey? I think thats a little direspectful considering we won 3 more games than you last year, beat you in your own back yard in a pressure game and gave you a damn good game at the start of the season when we were a brand new team.

I doubt we will make the top 8 this season but I'd still think you should be prepared to be embarrassed
