I wouldn't be surprised if that is indeed the case.
e.g. some of his pay comes out of the Fev budget and a fair wad of his wage comes from another job... i.e. The Featherstone Rovers community sports foundation trust!!
Then only the first bit comes out of the cap quota!! Boom Shanka!!

| I think he is just responding to your comment about a deep pocketed sponsor, remember you still have to comply with championship regulations such as salary cap the same as everyone else.
I would be wary of how deep his actual pockets are, remember how the Cas fans thought he was their new messiah??

I'm not sure if you are being intentionally stupid or not.
Are you suggesting that your club is breaking the rules?

| Re the Collis rumour it seems to be just that, rumour. Martin Clawson tweeted he can't wait to see him tomorrow. Wildie replied saying Collis had rung him complaining about how cold it is over here. Welcome back dean

I think some Fev fans at their recent supporters event have found out how deep (or shallow ) FN's pockets are.

Only if the club can proof to the satisfaction of the operational rules that the payment made is not connected to the players playing obligations to the club.

ah the "sensible" post from TURFEDOUT. Of course you are correct. The club are a separate entity and a player is employed in a part time basis with the club.
The same player can and will be employed on a part time basis with a registered charity e.g. "featherstone Rovers Community sports foundation trust" will work for the trusts commitments to delivering the health agenda and other work into the community. A good deal of the work is delivered district wide.
As you correctly say, as long as it is within operational rules and the two jobs are indeed seperate, then it meets the criteria laid down by the RFL as exempt from the cap!
Good comment TURFEDOUT
These arrangements are subject to regular audit by the RFL!

Intentionally Stupid??? I'm quite happy to state my academic achievemement if needs be.... not that it matters a jot like!!!
Read the post. A player can and will work part time for 2 employers - with only the playing role subject to the cap - and it's legit, subject to operational rules and audit by the RFL!!!

In your post you highlighted the simple exploiting of such a system with a boom shanka to boot, that was my point regarding being stupid. If you're going to do it, at least keep schtum about it.

Long time since ive been called sensible!!
You just need to be careful of the separate entity bit................I believe they can get you on the common shareholders/directors etc....
Good luck to you guys, you wont be doing anything that other clubs arent already doing .

No need to keep schtumn. It's perfectly legal in law and under the regs set out by the RFL.
It's maybe a hole in the laws than the RFL cannot fill because of the employment act, which enables part time clubs to sign bigger names and still come under the cap. I make no apologies for the BOOM SHANKA!!!
