so nothing to do with a huge gap in class of players?

| Went to the game tonight. The lads played with a lot more commitment. Very frustrating as Wigan weren't square at the play the ball all night. A lot of head highs were also unpunished, but Alibert managed to see ours. Tompkins obviously heard about Broadbent last week as he turned round in 2nd half and told the Wakey fans to 'f... off'.
Play like that against the Crusaders and we're in with a chance. Murphy went off with an arm injury, wondered if its broken and Korki spent a long time laid out with an injury, looked like concussion. These 2 will be badly missed if they are out next game.

| Too much dropped ball on the first tackle tonight one reason we got beat the other reason is we were playing the defending champions and a team that are top again this year and thats no fluke. At times its like they were playing a different game to us.

| I went over last night and I must say that I came away from the ground feeling proud of the players because the effort that was there earlier in the season returned last night.
I think it was a very even game if you take the first 5 and last 8 of the first half away it was 12-6.
I was pleased with our goaline defence which was strong and also we looked ok in attack and I think I am right in saying we were held up 4 times and if Frankie or Semi had scored when they had opportunities when the score was 12-6 the score will have been closer and would have shown a fairer reflection of the game.

| We did okay. The first half was more even than the half time score suggested, and we could have been ahead after 35 minutes had we been more clinical near the line. We put some good shots on. They scored too easily at times, but Tomkins was superb. The kick he put through for the winger to score, he dived on it three yards out and slid over, was inch perfect and executed when running at speed. And he did the same for his own try at the other end.
Korki was out for a while but he came on again, and so I presume he's okay.
As for the ref not pinging Wigan, I was down the side, not behind the sticks, and I can say that we were two or three yards offside at every play the ball and he didn't penalise us much. He just let the players get on with it.
I can also say that the Wigan fans applauded Wakey when we came on, applauded our first try, and applauded Korki when he got to his feet. They seemed a decent bunch (although it is easy to be gracious when you are getting the win you expected).

No not at all, I've been noted for being very negative over the last 7 years or so on here but I'm in a minority now due to showing a hell of a lot of faith in the current squad. I just think as a fairly new unit we haven't had much to install confidence and matters aren't helped by a coach who seeks alternative employment here there and everywhere and some bizarre tactics that would only suit a very powerful side.
One thing that worries me though is unforced errors in a side not really playing expansive RL.

| Unable to attend last nights game due to work commitments, however at the time I was not too upset at the prospect of not being able to go.
I fear on this occasion this has come back to bite me on the rear, as it would appear the boys put in a little effort compared to previous weeks, so I will ask those that did go can you truly see light at the end of the tunnel or was it that Wigan only did what they had to do.

There was a lot of effort, but I'm not sure Wigan got much beyond a canter.

| One thing that I did notice was that I thought we looked a lot more dangerous in attack when Wildie was at hooker and Rinaldi was off the field. I know Rinaldi is playing injured but he didn't offer much last night. Maybe it is time for him to be given a rest and Wildie and Davey to be the 2 hookers.

Or dare I say it put Tommy Lee there as he offers little at half back.

Good idea that means that Moore when he is fit can play in the Halves with Smith who I think looked lively last night.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| In all honesty, Lee should play his natural hk position with Wildie.
For some reason Rinaldi hit a month of form and has been below average of what we know he can produce.
Moore is a SH so get him I'n there with smith who is another natural half.
To me Howarth was a bug loss as anyone who watched him close enough could see he linked the ball out to centres and wingmen very well ( most likely due to his good wigan pedigree).
With Moore and Howarth I am confident that the attack will be much more structured. The roles of players need to be addressed. Lee, Hyde are not playmakers and not knocking them but should focus on their own strengths.
