How is not giving in to every demand every tom, dick and harry make of us being a muppet!??? The fact that so much of this deal has been played out in public is disappointing, but the deal itself is one that is agreed to by the sacrisanct coaching department, the board and by fellow players.
The deal is done - no farce anywhere in sight - let's get on with it eh? |

I note the comments of Get em on side ref and would be interested to know how you would have managed the situation. From what I have heard we have been in talks with DB and his agent since the end of last season. They declined our offers and about two weeks ago the board, JK etc accepted that DB was not going to sign a contract extension.
Very shortly after Hudds get in touch advising that they have an interest in DB. A deal is agrred in a very short period of time that is satisfactory to firstly John Kear, then the board, then the Hudds player / players who will be playing at Wakefield, all the agents and the Hudds club.
Not an easy deal to put together, very difficult to make sure all parties are happy.
That said I look forward to reading how Get em on side ref would have managed the situation. If what I here is true the deal looks great for us. The only people who I understand are not happy are the Hudds players who are not looking forward to having DB as a team mate.

Isn't Korki in the last year of his contract? If so there's not much to be gained from signing him now instead of when he becomes a free agent at the end of the season (unless you think other clubs might be interested, again). |
