Part of the reason we can't attract old fans back is because of "selling our best players" in the past


I agree with the theory but you can take 250 of the next gate and the gates for the rest of the season if you continue to sell players like DB.

merely the economist and accountant in me coming out, part of me knew something wasnt all right financially when we went for the naming rights raffle, struck me as a desperate move.

as a fan it stinks as its a short term fix, to the younger fans danny is a hero, like it or not. and i know hes not popular on here, but hes won us many more games than hes lost us and hes a winner, he goes to hudds im going to be very very peeved indeed.

Another point on attendence figures is at the Bradford game there LOOKED a lot more than 6,516 there....

Am I the only one who's not over d about this? He has been far from his best for us this year, infact only the Bradford game sticks out in my mind as being on a par with his form from the first half of last year.

Take the money and run I say (if its available), after all - if he wants to go he strikes me as the kind of guy who could make life awkward for those blocking a move.

market data in the accountants ofice will say short of a big cup run attendances will project to go down rather than up from a point of 3rd and at home to go second, unless you think we are finishing top at end of season.

and then as a fan you think sod that its not a business its my passion, but then again im not underwriting the lossses.

Think there is truth in the rumour but hope I'm wrong. Was really looking forward to Edinburgh but if this happens will take the edge off a bit. Have just heard that we are signing another player but don't know how true it is and I don't mean Korky.

Lets face it our gates are pathetic whether there appear to be more there than announced.

We are playing better than last season at the same time but our gates have fallen when they should at least be holding steady. We have around a hardcore of 4,500 to 5,000 fans compared with say Castleford who I'd say have a hardcore of 7,000 ish. On income thats an extra of at least £350,000 pa - how can we complete with that let alone better supported clubs.

If this is true and Danny is being sold to balance the books what message does that send to the players let alone the fans. Who will want to play for a club that appears to lack ambition.

I have a business and I know about income and expenditure and if we are skint then selling may be the only alternative but its the road to ruin. We have to look deeper as to why the gates are down, its not performance on the field and address the problem.

We have to look at our Marketing. Why can other clubs, argueably not as good as us get better gates, what are they doing. We know about the Huddersfield season ticket offer and some laughed at it but they are averaging 9,000. We need to pay someone good money with performance bonuses to come in and shake up the whole of our marketing. I know we have laughed and taken the mickey but hot having medium shirts in the shop - missed revenue and I'm sure there are other similar examples.

Next week is the shareholders meeting when I believe that 100,000 £1 shares will be offered for sale - what chance do we have of selling them with news like this. This time last week I was over the moon, 4th in League and a new Stadium announced now I'm totally peed off.

If we don't get this sorted we won't have to worry about a new 12,000 stadium, Belle Vue will suffice for the forseable future.

Sorry for the rant but totally fed up.
