| Yes the repeat set they were given looked a harsh call and our only penalty of the first half came a couple of tackles later on our own 5 metre line!
I’m not one for having a go at refs every week but the clear frustration for all fans is the consistency...
We started the game well and were really dominant the first ten minutes...easily making 50/60 metres a set while Hull were struggling to get out of their half...6-0 up and playing well and then a big momentum swing with successive penalties that ended in a try. Now that’s fair enough pulling us for offside but where it annoys fans is when for the rest of the half when Hull got on top and we were struggling to get out of our half there wasn’t one penalty in sight...no one is telling me Hull weren’t offside once in that first half, but there’s the inconsistency!
Thought Hull definitely got the rub of the green first half and the 6-1 penalty count was telling...second half though it seemed to completely swing the other way and the 50/50’s started going our way and we got back in it...just a shame we couldn’t see it out...

Why would I need to edit it? Dreadful first half which wasn't the fault of the ref, an improved second half, and still lost

His influence is clear, Child heavily penalised Trinity and Hull took a grip of the game the second was the complete reverse. Did both teams dramatically alter their style of play between each half? I would say not. Child does this a lot, he seems to ref periods where he heavily focuses on one team and ignores the other before switching. When Trinity got the benefit they played well when they were under the cosh we looked like a disorganised rabble. Hell we had momtemum then two back to back penalties switched the entire match in that first half.

Why would you care anyway, thought you'd done with the club.

I'm not going to watch them while Chester is still coaching. Doesn't mean I'm done with the club. I'm a supporter of the club, not a partisan supporter of a poor coach

If it was a unique situation that we gave away back to back penalties then a soft try, I'd perhaps believe you that this was a Child incident, but can you honestly say that we've never given away silly back to backs followed by a soft try even when we're on the front foot, because that's been our MO for quite some time

For a guy who doesn’t go you seem to know a lot.

If you don’t watch Trinity, then how can you possibly comment on any game we play. You are entitled to an opinion but, if you haven’t seen something yourself, then your opinion has no credibility.

I spoke to several people last night who were at the game from both fan groups, all of them said that we were our own worst enemy. And having watched the team for many years, I know that my friends will have been telling the truth. The refs aren't biased

| Sorry but two games in a row Child has penalised us twice in succession which has led to the opposition scoring.
Was the guy turned away by the club as a youngster or something?
It seems no matter what game or whatever we do Child just wants to penalise us.

I don't think he's biased, I just don't like the way he officiates, win or lose.

As it turned out it had a profound effect on the outcome of the game.'"
Think they're the only two I had issue with. The rest were just Child being his usual pedantic self.

| Egg banjo is the typical internet fan of this day and age...probably gobbed off all over social media about our coach and now we look to be turning a bit of a corner hasn’t got it in him to admit he got it wrong...club are better off without so called fans like him/her anyway...just a drain with their constant negativity...
If you break down what Chester has done for this club so far he’s done and is doing a fantastic job.
Two consecutive 5th place finishes with one of, if not the lowest budget in the competition.
Struggled last season with a horrendous injury crisis missing the majority of our best players for most of the season...good coaches don’t become bad overnight but when you just haven’t got the players to put out on the park things are tough...you only have to look at Tony Smith and Brian McDermott for that...two of the most successful coaches in super league trophy wise and now struggling at the bottom because they haven’t got the players...
Ian Watson too...took Salford to a grand final last year...lose a big chunk of his best players (like Chester did to injury last year) and all of a sudden they look to be struggling.
What Chester has done though is as well as the struggles we had with injuries he identified areas and players that needed strengthening and it has to be said...so far his recruitment this season looks probably as shrewd as it has in any season...we struggled right edge all last year with Pauli just not putting the effort in and Jay Pitts has slotted in there seamlessly...Westerman a type of player we’ve always missed...a classy ball handling loose forward who’s had an excellent start...people questioned his fitness, desire etc but he’s come to play without question...played just over an hour last night and topped the tackle count with 46 just one miss...against that huge Hull pack with so much quality that’s an outstanding effort.
Thought Walker looked good last night and is bedding into the side nicely...looked assured at the back and looks threatening joining the line...put Atkins in for his second with a peach of a pass! Thought Atkins was great last night too...has had plenty of stick but has certainly got a good season in him if last night is anything to go by...
Chris Green looks a good signing too...a big imposing lad and looks to have a really good offload to his game.
It’s not just the new signings though...it’s retaining the likes of Big Dave, Johnstone, Tupou etc...while Salford and Ian Watson lost their star players last year we’ve managed to keep ours.
I thought 2nd half last night we played some cracking stuff...maybe Egg Banjos mates (if they’re not made up) didn’t pass that on...but I thought we threw the ball about as good as I’ve seen for a while and really took it to a very good Hull side...it was one of those games that could have got away from us and ended in a heavy defeat but the 2nd half response was excellent and bodes well for the rest of the season providing we don’t have the type of injury crisis we suffered last season!
