Maybe so but I haven't seen much of him at f/b. The time he has spent in the halves has been impressive and he has shown creativity. If he can bring that to the fore when he joins in the attacking line from f/b then it should cause defences a lot of trouble.

| I agree.
Brough and Miller and then Hampshire running at the line, all able to give a good ball out to the wing is pretty special.

I don't see him as a FB either.
Is there enough evidence to suggest he will be better than Jowitt at FB? I haven't seen it yet!

He's not, and more importantly he doesn't want to play there either, but Brough ain't coming to play in the reserves so it's Miller and Brough in the halves which pushes Hampshire out which pushes Jowitt out. Hope it's worth it.

Indeed. It'll be ironic if we finish any lower than 5th next year.

You're probably right, but CC seems full of surprises, so we'll watch that space!

Silly statement, you could say that about any team with any signing

| I hope that by releasing Grix, this gives Jowitt a chance to show his worth and start as full back. If I was him, and the club put another player in front of me who isnt a fullback and doesnt want to be a full back, I would be looking to move away. Hope this isnt the case.
Maybe brough will be used as an interchange hooker with Randell moving to more of a L/F position?

Is there enough evidence to say he won't be better than Jowitt at FB, probably the reason you haven't seen it yet is because he's only played there one game for us and played well at that, our number one FB has gone now and the position needs filling why not wait and see what happens at the start of the season, which I might add may be a difficult choice to pick his best 17.

At a guess I would say Hampshire has played FB more times than Jowitt, so it's not as though if Hampshire does go to FB that Chester will be throwing him in at the deep end, I'm feeling that Hampshires preferred position is SH which is different to not wanting to play FB, given the choice I'm sure he'd prefer FB than no position at all, maybe they'll both show more maturity than you and do what every team player does and that's fight for their places like it should be.

I'd suggest he either has more fight and determination than you.... Or he'll end up playing the same level as you do.

| Here we go again with Jowitt what is it with some fans they seem to want the underdog. Jowitt was even worse in his last game against Warrrington than normal & Chester decided he'd had enough & took him off & put Hampshire at fullback. I dont understand why you wouldn't want the best for Wakey he obviously is a weak link in the trinity team yet people want to play him I'm glad that CC has seen what he can do. Since Chesters been here he obviously doesn't rate him get over it & let someone with the bottle to play that position do there job.

He's older than Jowitt though, so that's a skewed statistic that you're guessing at anyway.
Paul Pogba had the same situation at Man Utd, he did pretty well for himself when he left because they signed others to play in front of him.
If were looking at Rugby league examples we have had many examples such as Ryan Atkins, Kyle Amor both joined Wakefield because they werent getting game time at their clubs both have done very well. Matty Ashurst left saints for the same reason, now a dream team member.
Maybe instead of being immature, he has more self belief and the desire to play and prove himself.

| Great service from Grix and a massive thank you for all of your efforts for the Mighty Trin.
A stalwart of the side for the last few seasons and you will be missed.
