| Not much to argue with imo.
Hirst has been signed for another year but it looks like Baldwinson won't be here.
As others have said there are a few that have another year like Annakin, Kirmo & Horo, so they'll be here at a guess.
As much as Kirmo has stuck with us through thick and thin and could have gone onto pastures new when he was at the top of his game a few seasons ago, he needs to be honest about how his body is going to hold up to another season of RL.
On Horo, even if his contract was up I'd probably keep him longer tbh. I like what he brings to the team, experience, size, good engine, tackles everything and runs some decent lines.
Agree about Annakin, as much as I've wanted him to kick on year after year, he hasn't & he's getting overtaken by the younger up and coming players like Batchelor and Crowther atm. it's also a position we're well catered for.
MCB has gone but when either Tom or BJB go down we manage to cover that position well with Arundel moving into the s and Tupou and Lyne moving out to the wing and are fine wingers themselves. Plus there's young Kershaw coming through.
If we have signed Reynolds, it's a shrewd signing for what we need him for and he'll definitely put pressure on the others to keep their games at a good level. Not sure what's happening with King, I thought he'd signed but has gone quiet unless I've missed something official.

| I thought I saw somewhere that Crowther has already signed an extension.
Continuity is an important thing for me. Clearly you need to improve and replacing older players with younger ones is important too, but Horo, Crowther, Batchelor and Annakin are an important part of the team even if some don't always make the first 17 every time. Batchelor and Crowther as examples aren't fully developed yet and they need to be rested through the season so a big squad is important.

| Regarding annakin, hes the type of player every team needs. a squad player who is happy to be second choice and play 10 games a season, I imagine not for mega bucks. Wouldnt get into any other super league club but does the job for us.
Also, its worth noting you are required to have a certain number of 'home grown players' in your squad so he ticks that box too. As interestingly does Reece Lyne, even though he came through Hulls academy, because we signed him before he turned 19.

Don't agree, not when there are two promising S/R in Aydin and Wray coming up whilst Crowther is now finding his feet. I personally can't justify keeping Anakin on the homegrown argument.
Just my opinion but I personally would rather take a punt on youth.

| you once we are now in a position where we can bring in the youth a few at a time, we have stable side that is easy within a top 6, not guaranteed but should hold it own next yr so we do have now think of what we have coming through
I feel we are in a better position than Leeds, they will have to get there cheque book out for next season

| If we fancy a replacement for mob i'd go for Centrone from Toulouse - had a cracking qualifier series and worth a punt
Also, why not go for either ioane from london or tangata from fax if we're letting kirmo annakin or horo go

| Not sure on the Toulouse player to be honest, Steve1g. But if we do bring in a replacement for MCB, would look at bringing in someone from bottom end of SL or top of championship.
As for Kirmo, Horo and Annakin, cant really ser either off those going as they are all contracted for 2019. Having said that, I'm sure I recall Chessie saying in an interview a few weeks ago, that they were looking at the possibility of freeing up a quota spot at the end of the season.
If that is the case, hard pushed to think who it would be. For me, it would be Horo, but that is mainly because our other overseas players seem.to bring more, and with Crowther getting a few games toward the end of the year, and also King coming in, then there could well be someone surplus to requirements.

I'd be ok with that once those two are ready to play in first team for more than a couple of games.
Annakin isn't our best but he can play a decent level. He's not a weak link just sometimes the weakest when we have a fill team.
I've never seen the other two play but imagine they are not ready yet. Same as Batchelor wasn't when he first showed his potential.

You're right but you have missed my point a bit.
They are not ready to play regular not by any stretch but between them they are ready to play IMHO the handfull of games Anakin is likely to get next year should Kirmond get fit and Horo, Ashurst, Batchelor and Crowther remain fit and not forgetting PP playing S/R. Heck even Arundal or Bill could step up. Of the two Wray is the less raw but if people think Hooley is ready then I reckon Wray could play from the bench if needed though it would need to be an injury crisis of huge performances except perhaps in eary CC rounds.
My point is he's so far down the list now that I'm not sure what anyone is gaining. At a club like Fev or Dewsbury Anakin still has time to make himself a career and maybe even a bit of a folk hero, I just can't see that for him at Wakefield. Ditto the club can move the new wave up just that bit quicker.
I may be wrong but that's how I see it but as ever if Anakin stays he has my full support.

| Think we've had good value and service from Anakin and yes players like him are valuable to the squad. I will always remember him as one of those who stepped up at the Million Pound game in 2015 along with Jordan Tansey. Vastman is right though in what he says.

| I really like Anakin and think he adds great value to the team when he plays,
Just worth noting that Batch is a back row and Crowther I assume will be a back row also, I know his last few games have being at LF
Chris isnt a back row, he is a prop so he isn't standing in either of them progressing

Anakin is not a prop, sorry he just isn't. He could be a LF if he had the football brain but he is far to small to be a prop in the modern game.

It's rare I miss a match
I'm not aware of chris playing any position on rotation this season other than prop
Last season he rotated very successfully with arona at loose so will agree there but other than that he always plays prop
Happy to be proved wrong but not by your self due to your odd obsession with near continually saying he's not good enough for us (which chris is)
Your Anakin bagging is nearly on a par with your odd obsession bagging of fan favourite Michael Korkidas nearly a decade after he last played for us

Well it’s open to interpretation but it’s news to me that Anakin has been playing prop this year - clearly I don’t share your expert knowledge but to me and certainly most people I know he’s been playing in the back row as indicated as his position on the club website.
I’m not ‘bagging’ him as you put it so no need to go all emotive. We are a small club with a small budget and every penny counts and I personally think it may be better spent - you disagree but it’s open to debate this is after all a forum.
I actually thought he was only on a one year deal as it seems I’m wrong then frankly it doesn’t matter anymore what I think as I certainly believe contracts should be honoured and thus as already stated he has my full support.
As for Korkidas, seriously! I think you need to learn to let go.

| I too along with a lot more never miss many games vastman included, and I like him always thought Annekin was a back rower not a prop.
