That bloody stutter is getting worse

What has Max done to cement his place in our team? What has Max done that other fullbacks in the league haven’t?

The only justification from anyone on this forum has been that “he’s one of our young lads”. It doesn’t mean anything, he’s not good enough yet people are blinded because they want him to follow in the footsteps of Johnstone.

I don’t want people to jump and say I’m like the rest, I’d love Max to secure the fullback shirt it would be another success for the club in terms of academy production and would surely benefit the club financially however comparing our fullbacks to other clubs, we’re embarrasingly far behind.

Very touchy - I’m also only expressing my opinion but to keep on track with the discussion; hasn’t MC confirmed 2/3 times that we are one of the only clubs (if not the only) to have spent considerably under the salary cap?

Grix and Jowitt depart with the extra 75k from finishing 5th leaving us with a SL standard fullback and Hooley to cover?

Thankfully the clubs coach believes in Max Jowitt, as lots on here do, hence him signing the contract not that long since!

IMHO Max Jowitt's only problem is his lack of game time over the last two seasons. Hardly his own doing.

You buy the 1000 extra season tickets to allow us to spend full salary cap, I believe that is the figure required, then you might get your wish, regarding the touchy quote, you might be right as I am involved with the youth set up and also realistic.

Jowitt and Grix are under contract, that £75k pays them off leaving us with Hooley and Jones-Bishop. One untested and the other a decent winger but never seemed a natural number 1 and was in fact lost his place to the very kid you want to get rid of.

How dare you suggest one of our home grown talent isnt good enough...you are right though not cos of friday but while grix was out he had the chance to show how good he is but for me has been average in attack and defence wish that wasnt the case but its how it is if where to move forward i do think we need summet different..as with crowther he cant be knocked and its put out there hes still developing even though he been playing first team rugby for 4 to 5 years as he is local as with max really wish he would of shown up but he hasnt and we cant just praise cos there local boys if where to move forward

You know what they say about opinions..:

Castleford have picked up two decent quality fullbacks during this season alone, the players are out there; I never said I knew who the fullback we should sign is, I just know the quality is available as it is for other clubs.

I have a different opinion and I seem to be getting shot down for it despite nobody providing any reason for why Jowitt is good enough



We even played Rocky infront if him earlier in the season, what sort of confidence does that show?
