Mediocre performances at best. This is the first signing thats left me a bit flat. Hope the next one is much better as this wont help with season ticket sales

FFS utter garbage. I was hoping we were going to get rid of the rubbish not signing them up.......for 2 years!!!! laughable deal...why 2 years? its not like anyone ....anywhere ...would want him. Jesus Christ that has absolutely astonsihed me...i am amazed some on here think its a good signing?...my god what have they been watching.

Quote: gowerthegroap "Really disappointed by this. I've not seen Arundel do one thing to suggest he deserves any contract let alone a 2 year contract. 2 tries and 2 assists in 21 games and a general demeanour to suggest he didn't at any stage want to bend his back or get involved. Averaged 70 metres. There won't be many outside backs in the division made less! To put it in perspective, even Craig Hall averaged over 100!

We finished last season with 17 players signed up for this year. This was the perfect opportunity to recognise how truly awful we had been, how lucky we had been, and start over. Joe Arundel is the very barometer for accepting mediocrity.

Complete waste of money.'"

My sentiments exactly but you have put it far better than i could
"Joe Arundell is the very barometer for accepting mediocrity".........absolutely correct. terrible news for the fans. ffs that is the worst signing in recent history....still miles behind giving Agar a 3 year deal based on a total balls up of an attempt at coaching the club....still its gone well for him at the wire and France looked like they were really playing for their coach.
Terrible signing....just awful.

I hope to god he was very very cheap. Signings like this swallowing up our available wage funds is just not right.
I was hoping we would be saying thanks for your efforts Joe, I'm sure you do well in the Championship; and unless Richard Owen miraculously comes back twice as fast and strong I fear these are the 2 Cas rejects that will hinder us the most.

Another that's been back in training for a few weeks,so hopefully a fully fit and focused squad member come the start of the season. It amazes me that the best signing so far,BS,is happy for Joe to stay but yet all of us so called experts doubt his Knowledge on his own players, let's just wait and see who's wrong.

T he games I saw last year, we always looked better defensively with him than without him. He was most improved player under Brian Smith and as he says with a pre season under his belt can only improve. Hope all the ones knocking him have been and got season ticket so that we can afford to do the shopping in the international market like they all want! We have to start somewhere and this lad deserves a crack. Never held the club to ransom like others and gave 100%. And he can kick when the pretty boys don't feel like it.

I have been bought a season ticket already by my dad who is alot richer than me. If it wasnt for him i deffinately would not be buying a season ticket to watch the likes of Arudal, tansey, owen and lyne walk around with their hands on their hips. Yes Arundal can kick!!!....... badly especially when the pressure is on....i saw him miss one from pretty much right in front of the sticks towards the end of the season that my mum at 73 with a hip problem would have chipped over with her eyes shut......strangely balls of steel Joe passed the kicking tee to somone else and then reverted to wandering about with his hands on his hips

I'm pretty sure that signing or not signing Arundal would have had zero effect on the season ticket sales. Why do people always make that statement!
He isn't Greg Inglis, or even Michael Shenton, but he was better last season than Collis, Hall, Lyne and sometimes Tupou in defence.

I won't be overjoyed if he is our starting centre, but I won't be topping myself like some on here are doing.
He got better the longer he played under Smith. So I'm willing to give him a chance.

If that was him at 100% I would hate to see what anything less looks like...

I'm with you pop tart, I believe in Brian Smith. Everyone will improve in the off season, joe will fit into his jigsaw . We haven't got ££££ for Greg Inglis so we need players who are cheap and have improvement in them.... I reckon Joe will do alright!
