| I suppose the pertinent question is how many of the players would actually want the shirt back if they lost it?

| We'll find out soon enough.
I'm looking forward to the Salford game.
It won't be perfect I'm sure but I think it will be exciting.

There is no doubt that most of our squad have been playing some way below their potential.
Very, very few have played anything like their best.
The young uns have generally gone well plus Anderson, McShane and Godinet.
Ali has had some moments but after that it's been pretty poor
How many players have achieved 7/10 or better ??
At least if Smith tells the players what is expected, they wont be surprised to miss a few games if they don't respond.
The lack of personal and collective pride (especially after the Warrington debacle) has been an utter disgrace.
It would have been bad enough in a pub team but, these guys are professional sportsmen and they should all have their own standards.

| I'd imagine that B Smith already knows a few players from Australia who would walk through the visa process and fill the centre and front row berths plus any more that become vacant over the next week or two.
Some regular first teamers might find themselves being squad players if they don't buck up their ideas.

Hope he brings a quality centre over then ASAP so they're ready for the Play offs as Trinity lack quality there with Collis gone.

| The rumour mill suggests the following have clubs lined up
Godinet
Washbrooke
Smith
Smith
Hall
Miller
Number 9 (whose name escapes me)
Johnston (no rumour but would not be short of clubs after him)
This is the problem of signing players on one year contracts it does show a lack of ambition.

Rumours are often just that at this stage though.

There always are rumours at this time of year as it is the peak contract sorting season. Most of them come to nothing. In addition to the ones you have listed i've heard ones for Scruton and Ryan as well. A lot of it is agents just trying to bump up their clients worth.

You would have to be a great salesman to talk up the worth of the majority of our squad. Most of them don't probably deserve what we're currently paying them

Great news article. Smith must be inspirational to the squad. The bloke is a legend and the club are very lucky to have him.
Hope BBC also use him for some pundit work as it'll be an improvement on the usual faces...

| He says all the right things and his experience shines throughout that interview. If he had more time I'd be confident of him turning things around. With such a short space of time I'm not sure he can.
Still if the players don't improve their performance and more importantly their attitude under his stewardship then it says a lot about them as individuals.

Let's think about this...
We can lose the rest of our regular season games and will be no worse than we are now - though it would be nice to win some to build confidence.
We need to beat the Championship sides to guarantee a place in the million pound game - beat another in that game & we are okay. We should have beat Leigh, Bradford might be okay, but the rest should be beatable.
Beat a Super League club in 8's and we will more than likely be okay without the million pound game. The other SL clubs are likely to be Salford & the Hull clubs. We have already beaten HKR, have a good record (home & away) against FC & we will see how we do against Salford on Sunday.
Plenty of time !
